Professor Ravael Lovato shares his amazing A top game. Based out of the headquaters position he will intriduce you to the knee slice passing game and side smash/knee weave passing game and the alternation/connection between them. The checkpoint one series focuses on setups from knee on the chest position. The checkpoint two series focuses on shin across the thigh pisition. He emphasis to build up a passing game with usingcthree directions. Each side and the middle to force the mount. He teaches ti always compromise yourcopponent's posture and to use your opponent's off baance attempts out of this to float and ride to pass and mount or szbmit. He teaches also hiwcto use submissions to comolete the pass ir submit half way or 3/4 way. His explanaitions are on point. He also shows key moves by himself and illustrates how you nullify hooks efficiently. Recommend it!!
some instructions dwell on one thing too long and others have dozens of variations. this is perfect. I watched 1-2 segments a day and then doubled back. I'm a black belt and learned a ton. thank you!
Lots of great details and explained very well.
Rafael Lovato is one of the old school competitors whose pressure passing made him very successful in all kinds of tournaments. I attended seminars of Lovato and was always impressed who good you can implement his techniques without any fancy or flexible stuff. And to have his knowledge on a video to rewatch as often as needed is great. His Headquarters passing techniques are amazing and your opponent will happily let you pass to get rid of the pressure. Heavily recommended instructional
This was the very first instructional I ever bought on BJJ Fanatics (and I have purchased a number since), and it remains my favorite and worth every penny! So much detail at every step, yet captivating as well. I can not recommend enough.
Lovato Jr. is a great instructor who does at excellent job of creating a systematic and controlled approach to passing. There's an answer for everything you might run into here, and I love it.
Really good details on how to pressure pass from the modified HQ position. I really like the details on how to use your legs to pressure their legs to get the pass. I was able to use the techniques immediately during rolling. A must for pressure passers.
1 video in and loving this
Learned so much from this pressure passing and top game. My bjj game changed after these videos.
Amazing series expertly taught by one of the best. Started adding the concepts and techniques immediately after watching a few times and praticing at home. I have had great success applying them with my training partners. His knee slice, side smash and climb into mount combinations give an almost unfair advantage.
Great
as an old and fortunate owner of his previous instructional on the pressure passing , I can say that this update was amazing. a whole new insight on a position that lovato masters. the best instructional around on the matter, period.
I love the way Lovato explains his Passing from HQ. Works like a charm and its easy to get into the possitions.
Lots of small details, and linking techniques. Very well done.
Excellent DVD. Focuses on passing from the headquarters position while maximizing pressure on the opponent and maintaining base to stabilize the position and then attacking. Given its' focus on headquarters, it's not as comprehensive as some videos that try to cover passes from every possible position, but the content is excellent on the passes he does cover. He gives you the detailed tips you need to make the positions and passes work, shows you how, and when to switch between passes and explains why. My only critique would be that I would have liked to have seen more of his submissions from mount. I've seen some of his older content in which he gives great details on a number of submissions, and it would be great to have seen updated details on these here. I won't take off a star for it though because you can clearly see what's included from the table of contents, it lives up to what it promises, and is very effective. You will occasionally start tapping people from pressure in mount and make people far more uncomfortable under your mount following what he shows.
This is a great instructional! Lovato is extremely detailed and provides you a system to pass the guard. He is concise and provides a clear system that links together. I have only seen a portion of the videos but have already started to hit this successfully in sparring.
An efficient and systematic approach to not only passing the guard while draining your opponent but the grips and passes are setups for submissions. This new series addresses several issues that I’ve experienced with the new guard players.
Lovato has an incredible way of explaining the techniques very clearly. This instructional has really helped my stagnant passing game. I wish I would have gotten this instructional years ago!
Totally worth the money. Good pace to teach and helped me a lot.
I love this instructional. The same techniques are applied over and over in different situations so that they can be remembered easily. Lots of details but not so many that you overlook the overall picture. Rafael has a very dominant submission-oriented passing style that I like. Often you will get the pass because you threaten with the submission. I love Xande's instructionals and I think Rafael's top game complements Xande's sideguard instructional nicely. Both show very aggressive albeit basic techniques, Rafael from top, Xande from bottom.
Awesome instructional. Definitely fits in with my style of passing. I have added these passes to my top game and I definitely have more control over my opponents, at all levels. Would love to see professor Lovatos no gi versions of the knee cut and side smash.
brilliant instructional , high percentage technique, watch any of lovatos matches and there is a solid chance you will see him perform exactly what he teaches here again and again, i watched this and began to use the knee cut and side smash as a regular part of my game passing guard frequently
Rock solid top game instruction. For those that like to be on top...this is it. For those that just want to have a few other options other than guard..this is still a great instructional.
Excellent instructional, in which every movement has its connection and it offers a lot of options depending on the reaction of the opponent.
Its one of my all time favorites. Very powerful content. I learned how to pressure my opponents guard options away, and exploit there reactions. You learn to make your opponents so uncomfortable, they will give the pass or submissions. Lovato does a good job at connecting submissions, and passes.
