I'm a bit of an instructional addict, and I watch a ridiculous amount of tape. This one by far has had the most visual affect to my progress and passing.
good
Long but if watched with Coffee unbeatable. Wins me 80 Percent of matches. I do roll smaller people.
very good
Work of art..well worth it's price.
The switching of grips and tight waist transitions, the stuffing , shelving and splitting and also the dynamic pummeling . This will be fun at age 52.
This DVDs massively improved my passing game
good
Gordon goes over almost everything you'd want to know about bodylock passing. He talks about common reactions and more importantly tells you what not to do. There is more here than I expected and Gordon does a deep dive on the position. I thought I knew the bodylock, but 75% of the info was new to me and I haven't seen it anywhere else. If you have a question about the bodylock it will be answered by Gordon in this instructional.
better than rody lock
Just AWESOME! Been trying to get my head around the finer details without success and had nearly given up. Now I have a reference to slowly work through any problems that I encountered. I've already come back to it several times to understand where I went wrong and the answer was there each time. This is more and Oxford Dictionary than a quick course that you watch once and understand. I think it's amazing we have the technology to tap into world class practitioners all over the world and get of them things that took them YEARS to figure out... mind-blowing where BJJ will be in just 5 years with this platform and shared information.!!!!
I’ve purchased quite a few instructionals since I have started BJJ, this is one of the most in depth and easy to learn from that I have bought in memory. Learning how to combine body locking with half guard passing has become a absolute game changer for me and has helped me pass training partners above my level in the gym and others in competition with relative ease.
Any questions you have about body locking are on this instructional.
Began my course journey by only watching Danaher courses but finally took the leap on studying Ryan. He is so high level and new neural pathways are made just by watching these amazing lessons.
Absolutely essential option to pass tough guards
You know what you're getting from a Gordon Ryan instructional: a detailed breakdown into how the best in the world does things. He doesn't spend as much time on theory and explanations as Danaher does, but you still definitely feel like you're getting a crash course on theory in addition to practical technique. I especially appreciated how Gordon discusses how to adapt the techniques for all body types and admits that body lock passing is not a universal solution- he also spends a fair bit of time covering how to transition from the body lock into other passes by forcing the opponent into a specific guard (especially half guard).
Gordon's instructional makes easy to understand bodylock passing.
Was able to implement straight away. A must have to pair with half guard passing
First passing video i bought and man it passes the vibe check.
Gordon is as good a teacher as he is a practitioner. Great detail communicated effectively. Very well done.
Gordon does a deep-dive on this particular type of passing. It's not hard to see why he's been so successful with it. Instruction is up to the same standards as his other Instructionals. If you've thought about purchasing this...pull the trigger.
Definitely need this for top game.
Two thumbs up! Have previously tried bodylock passing and always got swept or stuck. Gordon explains the finer points really well and I'm having high rate of success with the pass. Would recommend!
Passing the guard can be a difficult task. You need to employ multiple systems if you want to get thru top level guards. The body lock instructional gives you an additional tool in your tight passing arsenal. Gordon Ryan is not only a master grappler he is showing himself to be an excellent teacher.
Haven’t passed some of my high-level partners for over a year until now… the concepts of this series has elevated my game to finally punch through some really difficult guards.
