One of my favorites on the site
Very detailed explanations. Easy to follow steps
The most useful section was the live rolling narration at the end. I don’t think it is worth the full price though.
Gordon shows how to attack and gives you the fundamentals you need to keep your guard. You can do this even if your old as Gordon is mythotical and like a slithering snake. What I like about this is you don't have to be explosive.
Wonderful instruction!
Very descriptive and easy to understand. Would recommend to anyone who also gets stalled holding closed guard and wants a way to change to the top position.
Gordon Ryan is my favorite instructor on BJJ Fanatics. I have purchased the big guard bundle and recently his Pin Escapes series. I would highly recommend any of them to anyone. You will learn more than you can imagine.
Most of the concept presented in this instructional are very pertinent for a grappling contest, but it's missing analyse for a mma situation where the top player will act totally differently. most of the time he will put a lot of forward pressure and will not try to posture up. Great work thought
I haven’t seen every JJ instructional in the world but Gordon’s vids are probably the best videos I have watched. The pacing is good, the details are good. There’s plenty of little nuggets that you can immediately plug into your game and there’s broader stroke concepts and techniques that you can work and digest over time. What can’t be overstated is the value of a true system to deal with various guard concepts. Lots of great information here!
Very detailed and thorough instructional. Very well done.
!!
Superb product - the details have really helped by closed guard game. The rolling commentary is next level though - helps clarify a lot of the details explained by the instructor
Great instructional as always!
Very good in-depth Detail of a forgotten position in no gi. Gordon delivers per usual
like all instructionnals I got from G. Ryan, it's clear, functionnal, and honestly, hard to say it's wasn't battled tested
Gordon covers all the details and clearly! I've used the techniques that I've learned from his instructionals and made my Jiu Jitsu better!
phenomenal breakdown. advanced but basic at the same time. easy to folllow.
excellent tekniks and Systematically presented. works well even for Me
Very Good
I have now purchased and studied a variety of instructionals from bjj fanatics and have to say that despite the high price of Gordon Ryan's and John Danaher's content it is so superior to any of the other content I have purchased that I actually feel that everything else is a waste of money. This instructional is well planned out and highly comprehensive, the difference between having a ineffective and effective closed guard is really up to how well you study and implement the content in this series.
I never enjoyed fighting from full guard in all my years of training. Because of the instructional DVD I love fighting from the full guard now! All the options you get, the details, creating dillemas for your opponent and having an answer for every single reaction of your opponent! Love the system!! Great job Gordon!
Good
Great video that really breaks things down!
Gordon does a great job breaking down this position and making it highly effective. I really enjoy the live rolling at the end of the series demonstrating how effective these techniques are on skilled partners.
Well thought and structured! Loved all the concepts and the way they were explained.
