Pressure tested techniques make a huge difference. Great instructional will definitely get his other videos.
The content is well researched and effective. Detailed and clear instructions
Wasn't familiar with Burton, but after seeing he was associated with the Inoue brothers and Baret, it was a no brainer that he's legit. Good info that has you thinking about self defense strategy.
Awesome and practical
Great instructional, showing techniques and principles that are meticulously pressure tested by Mr. Richardson. No ********, no techniques that only work with a complying partner - just the real deal
A very good adaptation of BJJ for the street, covering many dangerous scenarios, beyond sport.
Great information that will help you differentiate between sport jiujitsu and street defense.
good tutorial
Very informative and practical
Excellent course. Highly recommended. Good instructor.
I liked the course and learned some valuable nuggets. Burton introduced the Canto Choke as a primary means of defending yourself in real life. I never considered that and am grateful for the insight.
clear, no fluff, empirically tested
A general overview of how to apply BJJ for different kinds of self-defense situations and how that differs from pure sport grappling. Compared to many questionable self-defense systems, Burton Richardson has clearly tested and developed the techniques against full resistance in training.
so far so good...just got I to it.
I really reccomend this video series focused in the self defense on the ground. It will help you to improve yours skills driving you step by step .
In a self defense situation grappling can work but you have to adapt your technique. Burton is a passionate martial artist. You can trust him blind. He will guide you.
Full disclosure: I'm one of Burton's Black Belts, but there is a reason I stayed training with him for so long. This is hands down the best collection of material on using jiujitsu for self defense because the techniques are applied against fully resisting opponents. Burton's techniques were honed in tested in the crucible of rolling, true to the spirit of Brazilian Jiujitsu. At this price, it's a steal
This material is really useful. Burton Richardson provides battle-tested techniques only and what is more: He always differentiates sports and self-defense.
Wow, he's certainly legit, a true expert in martial arts, world renown for his techniques, evidenced by his continuous pursuit for the stuff what works in the street by PRESSURE TESTING everything.. He's very humble and has a good heart (obviously, simultaneous with my virtual training with him through BJJ Fanatics, I also researched more about his gym and his personal life). No BS, not profit-oriented, just a pure heart in teaching people to be safe. I've got some knife defense training here.. I think this is one of my highlights. I've searched and searched for scores of techniques against the knife and I've finally realized how his techniques are topnotch--not 100% foolproof but it has, in my opinion, the most sensible chance of staying alive. I think I'm gonna head straight to his other training--the one really focused on knife defense. Burton, Israel, and Sarah, thanks for all that you do and for all that you are!! I hope you continue to be happy, healthy and fulfilled in your pursuits, passions and goals. I appreciate everything. God bless, Aloha! -Lyon, from the Philippines
Great info
This is what is what will make your BJJ more complete and street applicable. Must have for any BJJ practitioner to round out your skills.
Great stuff
Video deals with weapons as well as how to adapt BJJ grappling to street situations.
The instructional is quite bloated in my opinion, with a lot of verbose fillers, anecdotal stuff, and generally poorly paced. It could have easily been 1/3 of its current length and still go over all the points covered in detail. There are some useful tips and ideas that might be worth trying out, but overall it's annoying how much time you have to waste just waiting for the instructor to get to the point. FYI the first technical bit is actually shown after the 25 min mark. Cannot recommend for full price, maybe wait for a sale, if at all.
Bon dvd je recommande pour ceux qui aiment la self défense
