• Straightforward defences that work

  My submission defence was definitely a gap in my game, apart from initially just avoiding them (not always possible) but the principles from this has been helpful in improving this for me. Plus Craig is a great instructor which really helps.

  His instructional is awesome, like all his other instructionals. This video is intended to cover what jones considers the basic escapes, which do not match up exactly with what the gracies or probably your instructor would consider the foundational escapes. Very useful. The "keep jiu jitsu ***" tshirt is very distracting, wish he did not wear that. I'm pretty sure my wife has grave concerns about me because she saw me watching a craig jones instructional while wearing that shirt. But like I said, great instructional, like the other craig jones instructionals. best teacher on bjj fanatics imo by far.

  It does a good job covering Side Control, Mount, and Back Escapes. Honestly though, the price isn't worth it when you compare it to other escapes videos. I love Craigs instructionals and have a lot, but this one is pricey and doesn't give you anything that other escape videos would give you for a cheaper price. I wish he combined this video with his Front Head lock escapes instructional. I think that would justify the price.

  Craig does an excellent job at taking the basic positions that you'd typically get pinned in (mount, side control, and back control) and giving you simple yet effective escapes for these positions. worth every penny.
