His approach is a generalized system, not an algorthimic system because there are so many constantly changing variables at play. It's been a tremendous help for me and I feel a big leap in my guard retention.
sweet jesus i knew john had alot of knowledge of jiu jitsu but i didn't think it'd be like this. i own alot of instrucionals on this site some good, some bad and some that are excellent. besides the price of his instrcutionales i dont understand why i havent bought one before. john is a phenominal teacher no denying it. the way that he can convays his lessons are without equal and i get my mind blown everytime that i listen to him
Really useful, like how he breaks down the passes before going into the defense! Great way of articulating the complex into simple points

This has to be the most detailed course on guard retention in general. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve this area of their game.
This is an excellent instructional for guard retention as it is needed daily but not taught very often.
Outstanding detail! Will absolutely improve your Jiu Jitsu!
This is a great concise but in depth explanation of the fundamentals of guard retention. Danaher has an almost mathematical approach to explaining his system.

All the details and concepts needed to build a guard from scratch
Gives you all the details you will need to build your guard
Hands down the best resource I've come across. As a white belt just trying to survive, learning pin escapes and guard retention have been my first priorities. Cannot recommend the JD GFF series enough. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
