This is a must have instructional to continue to refer back to again and again. In particular i love how in depth the side control escapes are. Almost all of these escapes dont just put you back into guard, but they put you into realistic counter attacks, and even chain attacks. For example you escape side control with a high leg escape into an arm bar attempt. Admittedly (by John), this arm bar might not catch elite world class guys due to its mechanics, but it forces them to react in a predictable way which chains right into a strong leg attack. The only thing I guess I felt was missing was this didn't go into more detail with the fundamentals (such as basic mount escapes - this focuses on the kipping escape which itself is great but something these fat whitebelt isn't ready for yet). But this isn't a fundamentals instructional, it is all about the new wave philosophy of immediate counter offence. Easy 5 stars for me.
John is a great teacher and detailed instructor. One of the best for sure.
great philosophy, made me much better against higher belts.
must have content for nogi
understanding pins and escapes has improved my game substantially
Very good at all levels and great fundamentals around escapes. Very leg attack heavy exit strategies but just save the advanced stuff for another pass through in the future. 100% geared to No Gi
Change my escape understanding !
good
This instructional made all the difference for my ability to escape the pins of Jiu Jitsu. If you follow the instructions thoroughly, your ability to defend yourself against pins will reach a new level.
good
I know some find Danaher to be a drag sometimes and go on for too long. I personally love how detailed he is in his approach to teaching, it makes learning the techniques super easy and smooth.
Doesn't get any better than this!
Awesome!!!
As a white belt with shaky fundamentals in BJJ, Danaher's methodical breakdown and clear instruction have helped me grasp essential concepts I've struggled with. I feel more confident on the mat, and I'm excited to see how my skills develop. If you're like me and need to strengthen your fundamentals, this instructional is a must-watch.
With John's thorough and detailed explanations of escapes, I was able to begin utilizing the methods successfully in live competition. It is a highly valuable product!!!
no one does it better than John! Unmatched levels of detail and a very much "love to hear everything" he is talking about! His instructionals are simply super fantastic!
Helped me get out of a few positions I'd been struggling with
JD def one of the best instructor to ever exist
this will change your counter-pinnning game.
Tons of fundamental escapes that will help you enjoy BJJ for your entire time on the mats.
I’m a blue belt who kept getting stuck in side control. This video has really helped my ability to not only escape side control but roll straight into a counter attack. All the different positional escapes are great. Highly recommend.
Can't wait to implement!
Amazing details and new philosophy of not only escaping but attacking
Another great one
If you have a good leg locking game, then you can take advantage of escaping and maximize your counter attacking options. Great course.
