Back Control!
This position I find myself in this position a lot due to my scramble habits and game, I was aiming to understand back control, if this was chess and you had the king in check, you wouldn't want to lose your positioning and not finish the match. Demian Maia will help you keep your opponents in check so they will likely falter into checkmate.

This second part of a three part system covers maintaining control of the back (the first part, covers getting the back and the third, submitting from the back, both are sold seperatly). This instruction goes in depth, with great detail on the various minor adjustments you can use and when you'll want to use them to respond to your opponent's defensive efforts. I've gotten several instructionals on back control, and this is one of my favorites. I'm becoming very effective using what I've learned here.
My Favorite Video on Back Control
This is my absolute favorite video on back control. It's good fundamental jiu jitsu with very basic level attacks (that are 10x more efficient than flashy stuff) and they require no athleticism.

It’s the first part of 3 part encyclopaedia on the back taking/attacking. Going through the three instructionals, I can easily say that this one, despite on a more boring topic than attacks and back taking, is the one that take everything together.

In some ways his success in MMA make you forget how formidable he was as BJJ player. Feels redundant to keep saying it because you hear it over and over, but instructionals like this remind us that but Mia is world class.
