For a bigger, older guy this is kind of the deal. Roger explains the concepts behind the techniques very clearly. I was reminded today in class that when you're stuck go back to the fundamentals. This video is where I'll be spending my year.
i mean is there really anything to say? its roger gracie, its his close guard game. many many insights from a master competitor on techniques that you see everyday in your gym but with studleties that make it more impactful. great old school jiu jitsu
simple and strong class
Very nice content.
very thorough and detailed instruction. Roger Gracie Is such a superb teacher.
Absolutely simple yet complex demonstration with easy to understand system
Great content; as expected!
Roger is a master and he's probably the best closed guard players in the world. Lots of nice details.
Great guard instructional from one of the two best grapplers of all time ( in the opinion of many)! Great instruction style and well explained details.
Roger's closed guard series has helped me a lot, there are still tons from it that I need to implement, but pulling the opponent down with a double handed grip on the collar and power from the legs, just timed as they go to stand up, I've been able to pull off almost right away. That's just one thing, so there's a lot to learn here, but the instructional videos aren't overly long either so very easy to go back and review.
Great details from Roger Gracie, one of the greatest closed guard players of all time
This is one of the best, if not the best instructional I’ve ever purchased. The quality of the information is really priceless, there’s not one wasted minute. Everything Roger teaches here is extremely useful and practical, for all levels.
Learning Closed Guard concepts from the GOAT. Does it get any better?
No doubt this is masterpiece by the best of the game
bbh
best closed guard in the game
awesome content
fixed my closed guard alot, im able to catch upper belts in closed guard armbars now.
I love his explanations so simple. Unfortunately the length of the contract doesn't match the value hence the reason why I only gave four stars.
In my opinion, this is the best closed guard instructional for beginners, but it also has technique details that are useful for experienced closed guard players as well. The total running time is 2 hours and 34 minutes. Roger Gracie is a 10x IBJJF World Champion and widely considered one of the greatest BJJ competitors ever. In this instructional, Roger emphasizes that learning a large number of techniques is not the route to success. Instead, he says it is more important to learn a few techniques that you can execute at a very high level of proficiency. Two things separate the quality of this instructional from most others. First, Roger Gracie speaks with authority about which techniques often taught to beginners don't actually work against highly-skilled opponents. His goal is to only teach techniques that work at the highest level. Second, instead of just teaching how to perform each technique, he teaches three things: 1) How to perform the technique, 2) How an experienced opponent is likely to defend, and 3) How to overcome their defense. I own five closed guard instructionals from BJJ Fanatics. All of them are excellent. In terms of the quality of technique taught, I rank them in the following order: 1. The Roger Gracie Closed Guard System by Roger Gracie 2. The World Championship No-Gi Guard System by Bia Mesquita 3. The Gracie Secrets: Closed Guard by Kyra Gracie 4. Side Closed Guard Attacks by Xande Ribeiro 5. Connected Reaction: Clinch Closed Guard by Paul Schreiner The top four instructionals on this list are taught by multiple-time world champions.
Amazin
In my opion Roger Colsed Guard is still the best on the whole planet. He combines simple movements and techniques in a way that they work for everybody. His and the closed guard instructional from John Danaher (fundamentals in the gi) are the best ever saw for gi jiu jitsu.
Closed Guard with so much details that put this dvd on another level of learning
Comprehensive closed guard lessons from one of the best closed guard players ever. Not to be missed!
Professor Roger Gracie shares his way of playing the closed guard. He points out the underlying principles. He talks about weight distibution and angles and how to utilzie your grips to get the proper angles Best example for it isi signature sweep. He also points out when to prefer which type of sweep and how to put your opponent always into a dilemma between submission and position or submission and submission. His teaching is simple and very structured so that you can follow with ease! Highly recommend!
