Fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Escapes Gi & No Gi by Lachlan Giles
It is a great series that covers defence from all the main disadvantageous positions and their variants. The contents are extremely well laid-out; having an easily-navigable encyclopedia of escapes on your phone is incredibly helpful to figure out what you should have been doing just after the sessions, while the roll is still fresh in your mind.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Another 10 out of 10 for Sensei Danaher
Ageless Jiu Jitsu: Winning When You're Older or Less Athletic - Bottom Game by John Danaher
Sensei Danaher knocks it out of the park with this one - again! Thoughtful, thorough, and easy to follow. If you're even thinking about getting this, do it. I'm a 4th degree bb and now in my early 60's (still rolling :-) ). Started training BJJ very late, when I was 36, in 1996. I even trained for a few short years as a blue belt at Renzo's in NYC along side Professor Danaher (when he was also a blue belt and then had earned his purple). Not just talking sh*t here, but there was something special about him even way back then. He was analyzing and breaking things down for his fellow students like no one I'd seen before - or since - and between him and Renzo I learned A LOT there. Not just how to execute techniques, but how to "think". John's the man and we, the BJJ community, owe him an enormous debt for all he has done for our beloved martial art.

Guard Retention: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
Excellent video!!! I have purchased several of Professor Danaher’s videos. Like each instructional, I approach it like a college graduate course. The guard retention instructional was presented in a clear, organized and methodical fashion. I took detailed notes and watched the entire 8 chapter video over a period of several weeks. I have been able take the lessons from this instructional and transfer them into real skills. My confidence in my bottom game has increased. Thanks to this video, I even find myself “shadow rolling” and visualizing the different positions I may encounter. I have already seen improvements in my ability to retain and recover the guard position in a very short amount of time. Thank you Professor Danaher!!! I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom. You are an amazing teacher!!!
