Modern Split Squat Passing by Jason Rau
I picked this up on recommendation from searching reddit for no gi guard passing. This is a fairly simple system to comprehend and Jason is a great teacher. This system pairs well with Paul Schneider's tripod passing.
great passing system, works well in gi and no gi
Tripod Float Passing by Paul Schreiner
I recently heard about Paul Schneider when I was looking to learn tripod passing and could not be happier. This system is well explained and easy to understand. It does not seem to be very taxing on the guard passer and has a lot of flexibility in options. I think if you understand the mechanics, you can easily adapt the concepts to no gi. highly recommend.

Leglocks: Enter The System John Danaher
Leglocks: Enter The System by John Danaher
John Danaher’s Leglocks: Enter The System is the leg-attack bible I didn’t know I needed until every blue belt in the room started heel-hooking like it was 2018 again. Danaher de-mystifies the whole game—from Ashi Garami entries to breaking mechanics—so thoroughly that even a 50-year-old with “vintage” hamstrings (that’s me) can map it out step by step and feel dangerous. Why it rules Concept first, moves second: Danaher explains the hierarchy of control, knee-line retention, and breaking power so clearly you’ll wonder why you ever tried straight-ankle-locking from half guard. Safe for seasoned joints: The emphasis on positioning and wedges means I can attack without the explosive scrambles my chiropractor keeps warning me about. Offense and defense: You don’t just learn to attack—you learn to spot traps, bail correctly, and keep your own legs intact. System = confidence: Instead of random YouTube tricks, you get a coherent roadmap that actually scales from drilling to live rounds to competition. Bottom line If you’re tired of leg locks feeling like dark magic—or you just want to stop tapping to every inside‐heel-hook bandit in the room—this is the definitive guide. Clear, methodical, occasionally mind-bending, and endlessly re-watchable. Five stars, two happy knees, and a brand-new appreciation for the power of connective tissue science.
