Crooked but Legit
The Pendejo Guard by Craig Jones
Craig Jones just is a great guy with a great sense of humor. Which you clearly can hear between the lines. As to the Pendejo Guard itself, it seems a little weird at first but you should definitely give it a try when rolling. I was able to hit that crooked Pendulum Forte sweep first try ... :-)

The Pendejo Guard by Craig Jones
I jumped on this one when I saw he covered the false reap , as I’ve always wanted to get better at it. What I didn’t expect was the detailing in the grips, off balancing and set ups. Very detailed, and easy to get my head around! In true Craig Jones fashion here’s a pic of me getting silver in my last comp :joy:

Winning Double Knee Position by Marcos Tinoco
This instructional turned out to be a real surprise and a great resource for lots of techniques, flow and details! I thought I was getting some basic instructional of how to start from knees... but man was I wrong! This has so much more information about everything you need to know at the start and beyond. It has Chokes, sweeps, guard game, butterfly etc' and many details relevant to any BJJ practitioner. I like how Marcos goes into details that are sometimes missed by others. I highly recommend this. Great job Marcos T!

Yoga for rocks
Yoga For Rocks by Sebastian Brosche
I really love this instructional, I am a rock, and just 10min a day I do this before practice, and I'm seeing fast results. I did not think it would be this fast. He takes out all the fluff yoga movements that does not retain to jiu-jitsu . It's easy and is extremely beneficial for you flexibility for jiu-jitsu and decreasing your chances of injuries. Who doesn't have 10m a day, I would say it's a must in my tool box. Highly recommend.

Protecting & Generating Dynamic Offense From The Turtle by Priit Mihkelson
Priit’s deceptively simple tactics can be immediately implemented into your game, regardless of skill level. I’ve been working on my turtle game with my coach, and this instructional has helped supplement my training. Mind blown! Also worth noting, as someone 40+, Priit’s techniques are well-suited for older, less athletic players, too!

The Closed Guard Compendium by Matt Thornton
One of the best instructionals out there. I was a heavy half guarch player and have been trying to improve in other guarch positions. This instructional is helping me make up alot of lost time in an important fundamental position, the closed guarch. Thanks to Matt Thornton for putting this out there.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Mikey’s best instructional yet
Death From Below by Mikey Musumeci
I’ve seen all Mikey’s footlock/leg lock instructionals and this is his best one yet. There’s a lot of good content that is not seen in his other instructionals. Mikey gets better and better at teaching every time and in this one he seeems to be a peak teaching ability. He goes at a good pace, not too slow not too fast and as always build logically lesson upon lesson. It’s actually just his best instructional period. I’m a big fan of this instructional. I like instructional that build around one technique & one position & give you a system to handle your opponents reactions. This is a perfect example of that.

High Impact Greco Throws by Alec Ortiz
If you can handfight and pummel to a good position and know how to finish a takedown with just leverage and rotation you can modify it for any style of grappling. This instructional teaches great takedowns, nearly all landing in side control or scarf hold and will make you a champion of handfighting. I trained exclusively Greco for around 4 years and moved away and can’t find it anywhere so I’m using this instructional to refresh my technique and it’s great. Thank you Alec.

Survive and Escape by Matt Thornton
This instructional by Matt Thornton has the aim of making students more comfortable while on the bottom and teaching several fundamental positional and submission escapes. Surprisingly, by default Matt Thornton teaches a lot of material to make your topside control more efficient and effective. The topside instruction covers the more effective use of weight and body position on your training partner. In addition, he teaches several topside submission techniques (i.e., papercutter, shoulder of justice and step over armbar from side control). Positional escapes are covered in real depth and include classic side control where the opponent has one arm passed over your neck (elbow pressing the head and arm covering the shoulder and upper arm) and the other arm next to your hip, modified scarf hold, reverse modified scarf hold and the mount. One notable omission was that escapes from cross face & underhook side control were not covered in the same depth as the other positions, with a reference in the seminar that there was insufficient time to cover this position. However, this position was taught from the top (i.e., shoulder of justice) as a submission and there was instruction how to minimise the pressure from the bottom position when on the receiving end of the shoulder of justice. From my perspective for a fundamental positional escape instructional, this is an important omission. From my experience one important aspect that is worth noting is that Matt Thornton’s positional escaping techniques are effective, even when you are being pinned by a much larger person. As noted previously the instructional covers some submission escape techniques or defences including papercutter escape, darce defence, armbar, kimura from side control and kimura from north-south. As is the norm with a Matt Thornton instructional it is massive totalling 7 hours and 76 chapters. Strangely at least for me I found this instructional more engaging and interesting than many shorter instructionals. The format of the instructional is unusual in that it also includes chapters filmed at a weekend seminar. Importantly the seminar material is just the instruction provided at the seminar and does not include film footage of the participants practicing the material. Not surprising for a 7 hour instructional there is some re-visiting of concepts and techniques, however I found this beneficial in my learning. Matt Thornton speaks clearly, is engaging and his directions are easily understood. He uses his black belts to demonstrate techniques in a live setting so you can see the application of technique against resistance. As part of this demonstration process, he coaches and assists with identifying where improvements should be made in the application of the technique. Most of the material was filmed with a fixed camera and the range was appropriate. There were occasional times I wished that the instructors would change the angle of their demonstrations so for example I could see clearly how they were positioning their feet. Generally, sound was reasonable, however the microphone attached to Matt Thornton would occasionally distort the sound as his neck pressed into it. If you are interested in improving your knowledge of fundamental BJJ with a focus on positional escapes or if currently you are constantly being pinned by larger people or tapping out due to pressure, then this would be a good instructional to add to your library.
