Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Guard passing from the Brilliant Bernardo Faria!
No Gi Pressure Passing by Bernardo Faria
Solid video. Bernardo is really great. Aside from his ability as a grappler he truly understands the art of teaching as well and his warm personality makes from a great watch. The transitioning to passing in the Gi to No GI can be incredibly frustrating but Bernardo having experience with both modalities allows for him to be very clear on what grips are essential. Must buy!

Fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Escapes Gi & No Gi by Lachlan Giles
This instructional teaches positional escapes and recoveries for both the Gi and No-Gi. At the end of the day escapes are important, as they allow you to enjoy rolling rather than being stuck under your partner’s control and being crushed. The instructional series consists of eight volumes, with the major elements including: escape concepts, movements (e.g. hip escape, bridge, etc), and escapes for all the major positions including back control, turtle, side control, kesa gatame, scarf hold, switch base side control, north-south, knee on belly, and the mount (low, high and S mount). Additionally, there is guidance given to avoid typical submissions from these dominate positions. For example: when mounted defending against the cross choke, americana and armbar. This series is comprehensive both in its breadth and the details provided for each control position. For me this is a series that you keep revisiting, as there is such a lot of information to consider, reflect and absorb. I find it useful after having rolled to use this instructional to help me improve my ability to escape from a position where I have had difficulties. Lachlan presents well and he is easy to understand. He clearly demonstrates the techniques. The techniques are structured and logical. He teaches an overview of the position and the associated concepts before teaching the escapes and recovery techniques and finally linking the escapes techniques for the position. Additionally, there is footage of rolling, where Lachlan escapes the position using the techniques taught in the series. Sound and picture quality are good. The angles of the technique displayed are appropriate. This series will be useful and beneficial if you are wanting to improve your ability to escape positional controls and/or add to your repertoire of reliable positional escapes. From my experience it is money well spent. The instructional is 7 hours and 14 minutes long.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:This is beyond boxing.....this is a lesson in life.
The Fundamentals of Boxing by Teddy Atlas
Surely anyone reading this that knows me, won't be surprised that regardless of BD MMA & BJJFanatics having a good working relationship, that all things Teddy Atlas are getting 5 stars only because I couldn't give more. I'm half way through the second 'DVD', and smiling. The OG's that have been in the trenches and speak truth like Teddy does are so rare, you treat them like diamonds. Ironically a birdie told me Teddy and his co-host watched my Poirier breakdown (maybe Bud Crawford actually?) and it was like Rogan saying how important I was on the podcast the first time. Enough about me, this is a lesson in humility and toughness that I can't fathom someone NOT getting something out of. The technical details creep in gradually, from white belt to black (if such a thing existed in western boxing) and you realize you're listening to boxing royalty, and I'm a striking coach first!! If in a fleeting though, purchasing this crept in, listen to your muse. I have a few instructionals lol, but this is magical, thank you Professor Faria and team, and thanks Teddy, you've inspired a generation of pugilists. This is amazing, 10 stars.

The site functionality and service are superb. It’s too early to tell if I can absorb Prof Danaher’s instruction but if I can’t it’s definitely going to be my fault.

The Coyote Half Guard by Lucas Leite
This is exceptional material to develop an effective half guard game. The third video is completely ruined by someone constantly coughing behind camera. Why?!
Lots of good detail
The Pressure Mount by Braulio Estima
The instructional commences (Volume 1) with a short review of the concepts of maintaining the mount. Central to Braulio’s techniques is control and for each technique shown Braulio emphasises how to maintain control while the submission technique is being performed. Volume 2 covers cross choke and cross choke to armbar. Volume 3 covers the Ezekiel choke, arm triangle and americana with options. Volume 4 covers gaining and submitting from the high mount, responding to the opponent recovering half guard and head pinning. Braulio’s instructions are clear and for each submission he emphasises how to counter the opponent’s likely responses to the technique. He provides additional details and insights to ensure that the technique will be effective and reliable (e.g. the americana). Braulio also talks about the value of changing the order of movements to complete a technique, so that the opponent will not recognise the technique until it is too late to effectively resist (e.g. his Ezekiel entry). Sound quality and the angles of the camera are appropriate. However, unfortunately, there are times when the camera would lose its sharp focus and sometimes there are jerky movements. While annoying, it did not significantly detract from the content. For many people holding the mount against a resisting opponent and attempting a submission can be a difficult task. This instructional provides solutions to assist in maintaining the mount while performing a series of practical and efficient submissions. The instructional is 1 hour and 41 minutes long.

Wrist Lock The World: No Gi by Pete Letsos
I wasn’t looking for wristlocks the way I was before this dvd. Pete The Greeks added mad percentage points to my finishing ability since I’ve gotten to kimura and armbar setups but sometimes lost them. I never knew how effective wristlocks were even against high level guys, it’s incredible. Thank you Pete

Response from BJJ Fanatics:sunglasses:An excellent and thorough overview of the armbar system
50 Shades Of Arm Bar by Renato Canuto
This was exactly what I was looking for, a systematic treatment of the armbar system. I'm able to go through each position and Renato gives detailed explanations of the concepts and a thorough commentary. There is a lot to get through, but on the other hand it will provide years of study. I just hope that I have the discipline to return to it.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Danaher's Front Headlock System
The Front Headlock System by John Danaher
Just like all of John's DVDs, this hits the mark perfectly. John does an exceptional job breaking down the anatomy and physiology of the body, thus explaining exactly WHY you do things the way you do. He provides you with the logic and rationale that leads to clean and effective technique. One of my favorite things about Danaher tutorials is that extra attention is given to teaching each technique from multiple angles. You are completely aware of what every single part of your body should be doing when executing. Amazing.

Devastating Sambo Throws by Ivan Vasylchuk
I've seen many of these techniques before having studied some Judo and Wrestling, but he shows some details that are super important but I never knew about! I was learning new details right off the bat. It]s quick pace but he shows a lot. Take your time and practice like he tells you too and you will become much better at throws (he even shows some details for pinning).

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:A great range of entries into the triangle choke
Invisible Triangle concepts by Braulio Estima
In summary, this instructional teaches a range of entries into the basic triangle, reverse and inverted triangle chokes. At the start of the instructional Braulio teaches the concepts of the triangle, including the reverse and inverted triangles and their relationship to each other. The majority of the instructional is spent on teaching effective entries into the different triangle chokes. Entries are taught from closed guard, De La Riva, lasso, some sweeps, spider, side control, knee on belly, whilst being passed and defending the takedown. Useful insights are shared e.g. maintaining control while entering and applying the triangle. Braulio is engaging in his presentation and the pace is good and consequently your interest is maintained whilst watching. The instructions are clear. Sound quality and the angles of the camera are appropriate. If you are looking at extending your application of the triangle choke or increasing your success with the use of the triangle choke then this instructional will be of interest to you. The instructional is 2 hours and 20 minutes long.

Systematically Attacking the Turtle Position by Gordon Ryan
Great instructional. Best thing about Gordon Ryan’s instructional is that his live rolling does exactly as he demonstrates in his videos. It constantly reinforces the learning.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Excellent Instruction, Important Topic!!
Complete Cage Control by James Krause
I know some fans were fired up that an active UFC competitor/athlete was (and more to come!) doing an instructional, i was excited that someone was covering (fill in the blank) for MMA that teaches high level fighters normally. As most who have even dabbled know, takedowns for, striking for, submissions for (gloves etc), and especially fence or wall grappling are very different within the confines of MMA. This is something that everyone can get something out of. I wish this sort of thing was out in the early 2000’s, as cage grappling is one of the most under discussed yet common positions in the sport. Salad Coach Krause, and respect. Oss

The Knee Cut Roadmap by Josh McKinney
I like the way he sets up the cut from the opposite side. Really changed my ability to use the knee cut. Also prevents your opponent from catching your ankle. Wasn't much of a knee cut guy but now it's going to be one of my go to passes. Thanks Josh for some unique functional techniques.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Could be more complete, otherwise great
Protecting & Generating Dynamic Offense From The Turtle by Priit Mihkelson
I just got done watching this DVD so I have not tried out any of the techniques yet. But I wish he showed at least one sweep from turtle. He explains how the threat of standing up forces the opponent to put more pressure on you which makes it easier to sweep them. But then he doesn't show you any sweeps. So to use this DVD to its full potential I will have to learn some sweeps from another source which is annoying. This is the only issue I have with this dvd.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:An engaging Class with the drunken master himself. Even Better than Rafel Cordeiro's.
Beginner Edition: Muay Thai Masterclass by Jean Charles Skarbowsky
I own Rafael Cordeiro's program as well and I like this one better. Not only it shows more production value, but Jean Charles is more engaging. Obviously I am not saying Cordeiro's is bad by any stretch of the imagination, just that this one grabs my attention harder. Jean Charles really knows his stuff and gives you details and nuances, but he doesn't overwhelm the beginners. I got it because I learned he was GSP's drunken striking coach from this clip form the UFC (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6uhuSimf-A) and I am glad I didn´t miss on this no-nonse DVD. Its made all the more engaging, because the teachings of some techniques are then showcased with real clips from his extremely illustrious Competition career so it more or less reminds me of Gordon Ryan's "My Evolution your Revolution". This is the way to go moving forward. Its my favorite format for learning Martial Arts trough DVD's. Show the Technique, Apply it on a willing Huke and THEN show it on REAL SITUATION AGAINST A RESISTING OPPONENT. ******* Gold. Also the last huke is really cute and the Muay Thay Clinch is natural complement for our bjj for self defense purposes (and the trows from the clinch seem a natural transition from striking to ground game for MMA or self defense) My only pep pive is that Jean Charles looks and sounds disappointingly sober throughout the hole video...
