The Collar and Sleeve System Part 1: Outside Control On The Knees by Mikey Musumeci
I picked this up somewhat cautiously, looking to improve collar sleeve gaurd. But after watching I see any trepidation was completely misplaced. I, though admittedly very new to the art, was using the position as more or less a holding one: either attempt a scissor sweep or a basic triangle attempt visible a mile away. If all else failed, use push pull pressure to prevent the pass. But after watching this I have a vastly improved understanding of the position, and can now proceed from simply holding an opponent in a guard to systematically attacking. After one watch through (I'll need more) I was able to attack an omoplata and finish with a scissor sweep on a purple belt who has about 30lbs on me. I don't know how better to recommend it: one watch through, immediate technical success. The very instant volume 2 drops I am picking it up. Thank you Professor Musemeci!!!
Response from BJJ FanaticsThat's awesome, congrats! Keep studying and working hard! Mikey is a 3 Time world champ for a reason :wink:Great instructional!

Response from BJJ Fanatics:wink::hugging:Improve your ability to control and submit from the closed Guard - bottom
Mastering The Cross Collar Grip by Ante Dzolic
Objective of this instructional To study the high cross collar grip from closed guard bottom and the associated submissions, which are primarily chokes and also other complementary submission techniques. Additionally, the instructional covers how to deal with the defensive actions of your opponent. Ante discusses the advantages of the high collar cross grip: that it is a beginner friendly strategy, but will continue to be useful going forward; will encourage you to break your opponent’s posture; and develop your ability to use your whole body not just your hands. Content Volume 1 (28 minutes long) covers the starting position for the high collar grip; provides important fine detail on collar choking (e.g. contact points on your arms/hands, contact points on your opponent’s neck, the three major movements for your arms/wrists when you are applying the choke and knowledge of the necessary wrist alignment); how the cross collar grip will assist in controlling your opponent (i.e. the leash); movement within the closed guard; the appropriate mindset when using the high cross collar grip strategy (i.e. don’t **** your hands, focus on breaking the opponent’s posture, use your legs and get your grips); and the balance of the volume teaches a range of effective methods for breaking your opponent’s posture. Volume 2 (37 minutes long) covers the submission techniques including a range of collar chokes (x5); the head hug choke; countering defensive actions by the opponent; the loop choke; using the skirt lapel to assist with choking your opponent; using the triangle choke when the opponent has a strong posture; collar chokes using the overhook (x2); and utilising the head hug choke when you fail to secure the overhook grip. Volume 3 (34 minutes long) covers a range of techniques to counter your opponent’s defensive actions including taking advantage of their defensive actions to create openings for submissions including the wrist/shoulder lock, kimura, armlock, chokes, arm-triangle, omaplata and the triangle. Additionally, there are some responses that lead to their back. This is an excellent volume, as in the real world your opponent is not passive. Ante teaches in a relaxed manner. His instructions are clear and easily understood. He stays on point and the instructional is easy to watch and absorb. Sound and picture quality are good. The angles of the technique displayed are appropriate. The total length of the instructional is 1 hour and 39 minutes long and there are a total of 46 chapters. I would recommend this instructional to people that wish to improve their knowledge and skills to control and submit opponents from close guard bottom. The instructional includes fine detail, efficient techniques and in my opinion, it is good to cover how to deal with the likely responses from your opponent.
Response from BJJ FanaticsThanks so much for your detailed review! :hugging:Great instructions
Leglocks Unlocked by Tum Energia
I have the privilege of calling Tum my sensei. His dvd is the same quality as his teaching. His enthousiasme and clear instructions always make the techniques sound and look doable. Even when you are not interested in leglocks, you should consider checking out his YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/channel/UCPAm-P3ypZuwwzhDoqahqyA for even more content. Bottom line, this dvd is great for everyone who want to try the leglocks game or improve it.
It's a winner
No Gi Pressure Passing by Bernardo Faria
Great instructional. It explains the details of the presure passing very well. You are able to use it effectively......if you do the time with the video and break down the movements into what is useable for you. Teacher outlines the concepts very well and explains the material in a good layout and well thought out manner. I am able to use the concepts in live sparring, review adjustments needed after.....it works.

Leglocks Unlocked by Tum Energia
always find it difficult to watch a DVD, but I really like this one because of the sound quality and the very clear explanation of the techniques. I loved this technique ( Chapter 4 - Imanari fake to secondary leg DOA 15:11 - 19:34 ) because I always try an imanari roll and sometimes someone takes his leg away and this fake comes in handy. Would recommend this to get to improve or drill your leglock game And can't wait for a new DVD and to learn more new techniques Osu

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand:Pass your instructor’s guard.
The Science of Guard Passing by Lucas Lepri
Buy it now. Stop getting stuck in an elite fighter’s guard. I’ve even used some of the concepts in no gi. His voice is peaceful. He tells you to slow down at certain parts of the passes. Destroy knee shields. I even feel fresher after class. Less struggling - isn’t that the point. Be the best you can be and get it now. Ps the two hand grip on one armpit pass is so powerful you’re going to be looking for it!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:sunglasses::fire::hugging:Get it now.
The No Gi Deep Half Guard 2.0 by Jeff Glover
Quit suffering with a person’s knee on your belly. Escape mount or impending mount without gassing. Logically presented, including the use of an on-the-mat whiteboard, Glover states with three options from the deep half. Later he tells you how to get to the deep half from multiple situations. Lastly he tells you the pitfalls, and the ways to avoid them. Work on the “Favorite Uncle Grip” and you’ll find yourself sliding out of moves that would have left you in dire positions then capitalize on the escape buy getting to your knees and going from deep half - to on your knees and dominating your opponent. I love the white board, good natured humor (you will laugh at times) and the way this talented teacher organizes the teaching of the deep half. Get it now, it’s time to stop getting smashed, and instead time to realize your full potential.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:A comprehensive and quality instructional
Blue Belt Requirements 2.0 by Roy Dean
This is a comprehensive Gi based instructional (2 hours long) and covers rolls and falls; fundamental BJJ movements (e.g. hip escaping, bridging, etc); takedowns; escapes including from the mount, side control and from the headlock; armlocks and armbars submissions from the guard and from the mount, chokes from the guard and the mount; sweeps from closed guard; submissions from the knee on the belly; back attack submissions; back escapes; guard passing; and leg locks. The last chapter of the instructional covers the triangle from a white belt approach to that of a black belt. Surprisingly other than the two knee on belly submissions that commence from side control this instructional does not cover submissions from side control. The production quality of this instructional is excellent and is a cut above most instructionals. Roy Dean’s instructions are clear and easily understood. As mentioned, the filming is excellent and when techniques are performed there is generally an original view, a close up with a different angle and an overhead view. This repetition with different views does help with learning the technique correctly. From my experience some instructionals have a lot of theory and talking as well as the technique and in contrast there are those instructionals that are more to the point and focus on teaching the technique. This instructional is more of a technique based instructional. Noting that the limitation that this instructional does not include side control submissions (hence the four star rating), this instructional would suit and benefit a person starting out on their BJJ journey or those that want to improve their techniques or equally those people teaching BJJ students. If this is you, then I think you will gain a lot from this instructional.
