If you like Mike's YouTube Channel, You'll Love This Instructional
Weight Training For Grappling by Michael Israetel
Mike is a fitness youtuber and jiu jitsu black belt with a PhD in sports physiology. In this instructional, he shares a good deal of his insight on all aspects of integrating your strength training with your grappling. He doesn't go too in-depth on giving sample routines or sample exercises, but other than that this is a great resource. I think the golden question for me is always "How much, and how frequently, should I lift while doing BJJ?" and this helped me answer that.
Valuable Lesson
The Progressive System: The Juji Gatame by Flavio Canto
Great insight and important details from the armbar! very well explained.
Amazing Resource for All Levels
Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
As a newer (1 yr of training), lighter (145lb/66kg) grappler with no former wrestling or combat experience, I often find myself pinned in just about every position imaginable. This instructional has been a holy grail of information for me to learn about escapes from all types of positions. It has become a ritual for me to go to class, get smashed in a pinned position, and then come home and refer to this instructional to figure out how to escape that particular pin. There is a TON of information in here (as is the case with all of Danaher's instructionals), so feel free to pace yourself, take notes, and re-watch as needed.
Great Resource, Especially as a Beginner
Self Mastery: Solo BJJ Training Drills by John Danaher
I just started training a little over a year ago. I have some mats in my house, but I don't have a grappling ***** nor do I live with anyone I can train with. These drills are great for practicing movements and staying sharp, even when you can't get to a class or get a partner to practice with that day.
Wealth of Knowledge
Modern Reverse De La Riva by Jason Rau
When it comes to leglocks, RDLR, and de la riva, it really doesn't get better than Jason Rau's material. Succinct and to the point, the information in this instructional is well-worth the price.
First class instruction
The Complete Guide To Elbow Control Offense by Zack Esposito
This is really good. It might not be the first thing to learn, but it is a such a great polishing guide once you have some good ties. If you have decent ties and hand fighting already, this will take you to the next level and give your transitions a lot of grease.
