This instructional offers a nice set of exercises to get you competition ready. What is valuable is the transitions from one move to another. Real Catch Wrestling For The Street by Tony Cecchine
There are excellent principles approached in this instructional such as keeping your or your opponent's physical strength out of the equation and bringing more realistic solutions to a real confrontation. However, in my humble opinion, it could exploit even further these amazing principles in a wider variety of techniques.

Half Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
As with all of his instructionals, Danaher puts out solid information. Sometimes he can be a little long winded, but he's giving details that are important to the techniques he's teaching. Cool Easter Egg in Vol 6 of this series towards the end- Danaher farts and blames it on his training partner. Guess he's human after all.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Really good instruction

New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Mounted Pin Attacks - The 4x4 Mount System by John Danaher
As usual, Danaher delivers amazing insights and turns implicit knowledge into explicit knowledge and makes you feel silly for not grasping things before. After spending MANY MANY hours on this system I can say though that this system could have easily been packed into 6 (max 7) parts but Danaher is systematic and keeps loyal to the 8-part structure. Oh, and Mister Danaher, in the chapter where you explain the 10 subtypes of mounts, there are actually just 9!! :) But seriously, highly recommended!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Perfect foundation
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Open Guard The two Foundations Of Guard Play by John Danaher

Fundamentals of a Jiu Jitsu Renegade by Kurt Osiander
Kurt is a pillar in the community. he shared a lot of knowledge for free for years. I trained with him and he is as he appears, it's not a made up character. it's my small contribution to his cause. beside that, all the techniques he shows can easily applied... and they works.

Introduction to Butterfly Guard by Jon Satava
Everyone will always tell you the basics are the best moves to learn and they are usually what works best in competition. In my opinion its best to learn from the people that can make the same move work over and over again even when their opponent knows its coming. Jon's instructions make learning so easy. He is very clear and detailed oriented. There's so many amazing details that make all the difference in actually landing the move. Jon is by far one of the best instructors not just in New York but on the planet.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Danaher continues to shine
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Open Guard The two Foundations Of Guard Play by John Danaher
As usual with Danaher, the technical content is simply the best. In big categories, the instructional covers these topics: Gripping — 10% Kuzushi from seated guard (The Dynamic Energy Theory) — 15% Guard Retention — 25% Leglock entries — 40% Unnecessary talking — 10% :) The only critique I have is that wrestle-ups are not covered. They are not even really mentioned. Of course, I understand that Danaher has that planned as a separate DVD but just know that without wrestle-up skills your open guard is not complete. Annoying that wrestle-ups are shown in the intro section A LOT but it's not in the actual content. As with most Danaher videos, strongly recommended BUT to those who are ready to commit to this as a serious long-term project. I would specifically point out the Dynamic Energy Theory as a treasure.
