Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:The phD of Top Side Control
Control Freak: Side Control by Firas Zahabi
I've always enjoyed Firas' podcasts and video breakdowns, he's got a great way of breaking down complex subjects and making them tangible for even young or inexperienced students. It's like getting a phD in all the ins and outs of top side control. The concepts break down into simple mechanics and can be instantly used to dominate your opponents. I love this kind of stuff because it makes so much sense you can use it immediately.

Kimura: Enter The System by John Danaher
I got this because the cross kimora is one of my best moves and I wanted to tap into the potential of kimoras. There are tons of other kimoras and applications I didn’t know about and have really opened things up now that I know how to actually do the move. Really learned the ins and outs of the kimora lock and glad I picked it up.

Wrestling Takedowns To BJJ Locks by Mahmoud Gomaa
As a lifetime wrestler, you would think at a certain point your going to cap off on knowledge and skill set. I was sure of it until I met Coach Mahmoud Gomaa. Coach Mahmoud is a wrestling veteran with over 30 years of experience which is saying bare minimum about his combat sports knowledge. Coach Mahmoud’s ability to adapt to all of his students and adjust their skill sets has been nothing short of a blessing for myself and the rest of his students. Now that this instructional is now available, the rest of the world will have an opportunity to learn from him and see a little part of his catalog is an amazing treat. The ability to adapt isn’t something every coach has the skill or knowledge to beable to provide. Coach Mahmoud’s creativity is unmatched and his passion to add new moves to his list is a thing of beauty. Learning from coach Mahmoud has been a blessing and has really advanced my game on and off the mats. His teachings have added to more than just my abilities as it has added drastically to the joy I have of training and my overall love for combat sports. The way he can minipilulate something as minor as a single leg attack into a completely new finish and with submissions added is out of this world. Anyone interested in just more than wrestling and jiujitsu I recommend this dvd instructional. I would also recommend following him on all socials to see new never before seen moves uploaded every single week. Goodluck to everyone and god bless, UCE - MM

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:The guard play Bible. I love this video series!
Understanding The Distance From Guard by Gui Mendes
I'm so glad that Gui Mendes started this series. Having done jiu-jitsu for just over 6 years, I'm growing increasingly interested in the cerebral side of the martial art. Instead of learning the basic mechanics and techniques of moving from point a to b or learning submissions from every possible position, I have gained a love of seeing principles, well taught, which allow me to open up my game so that I can create during a roll, not just try to connect the dots. I've now started seeing the principles in action, when rolling and watching competitions. I had an experience the other day where I was rolling with a good blue belt and suddenly I recognized all the possible options, from a position, at once and successfully navigated the situation to get the tap. It was the first time I've ever felt like I was in that meme with all the math equations floating around me, but I understood it all and the when's and why's. It was amazing. The kind of understanding you get from this instructional will change the way you play and look at guard play. Definitely worth it.

The Straight Armlock Anthology by Lachlan Giles
Lackland Giles is the most technical guy out there. He doesn't have size and strength and he submits the biggest guys competing on the highest level and teaches you how to do the same. His techniques are broken down so well that if you have a question, rewatch the video because it's likely you missed it the first time. I also love the live rolling video after each technique to show you what the techniques look like when actually rolling. You can't go wrong with Lachlan Giles' instructionals.

Detailed but simple ways to pass most half guards the best way. If you learn any passing style half guard is almost certainly the best overall, so get good at it by knowing exactly what to do. You’ll keep coming back to watch as a reference. The concept of dynamic pinning was also eye opening.

The Pillars of Defense: Pin Escapes - Defensive to Offensive Cycles by Gordon Ryan
Gordon Ryan's instructionals are , hands down, the best, most thorough, and most systematized instructionals on the internet and this one is no difference. He gives so many details, principles, and answers to the endless "what ifs" that come with every jiu-jitsu technique that I have never had someone make me use the last few counters in each of his systems. On a personal note, I'm 44 and started bjj at 38, so I'm not getting any younger. I don't have the ability to train all day with a 55+ hour a week job and kids and I'm so grateful for Mr. Ryan's open-ness with his systems, mentality, and approach to jiu-jitsu. It has been like having a short-cut or cheat code. We are super lucky to have people (along with John Danaher) who have already figured so much of the jiu-jitsu maze out, that we can skip the decades of trial and error they have put in. They could have kept it to themselves like many martial arts instructors and practitioners do. Not only have Gordon's instructionals changed me as a bjj player, but it's made me competitive with the black belts and high level competitors I train with (as a purple belt).

If you want to triangle everyone from everywhere
Triangles Enter The System by John Danaher
I would never go for triangles because if you miss it you’re vulnerable to get passed, but I knew it’s such a great tool if you can do it well. After learning all the details of how to really triangle somebody I feel good about shooting trap triangles from bottom. Never knew anything but the front triangle and would botch any rear triangle until this. Strangles are better than joint locks and your legs are more powerful than your arms so why not learn everything about strangling with your legs from John Danaher?

A great series on nogi guard passing. The concepts presented are invaluable. Would recommend.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:A champion teaching you how to master the things that make him great
Surf Passing by Eduardo Telles
The first instructional I ever purchased was Telles' first, The Turtle and Octopus guard. I leaned heavily on that series during my first tournament and took double gold in the adult heavy weight white belt division with no wrestling background and no previous grappling experience. In fact, I'd never even rolled without a gi and still won my 3 no-gi matches. All of that was due to Eduardo Telles' instructional. Now, his modern instructionals haven't lost any effectiveness and his teaching has only gotten better and more precise. I love the 2 new series he's put out on Surf Passing and Turtle. Both are easily implemented day one and EASY to watch. He's as gifted a teacher as he is a grappler and I desperately hope he'll do another series on the Octopus guard. So many effective techniques and systems in these instructionals it feels like they should be more expensive to learn a championsship caliber jiu-jitsu game from the master himself.
