Effective Heavyweight Defense by Youssif Hemida.
Effective Heavyweight Defense by Youssif Hemida
Youssif’s instructions are clear and to the point . As a mechanical learner, I need steps to be broken down to process information. Currently, I take adult boxing/kickboxing classes and the strategies provided by Youssif are transferable as he discusses the importance of footwork , head movement , and fighter’s stance . This video is beneficial for anyone who wants to cross train like myself.

Position before submission
BJJ Accelerator Blueprint by Stephen Whittier
The phrase "position before submission" gets tossed around a lot for BJJ, but most instructionals still focus on technique - specific escapes, sweeps, or submissions. This is one of the few videos I've found that goes in depth on proper body mechanics and positioning to maximize the effectiveness of any given position.
Great
The Guard Retention Anthology: Through The Legs and Close Range by Lachlan Giles & Ariel Tabak
Lachlan always has great instructionals!
Decent but not exceptional
The White Belt Bible by Roy Dean
First off, I like Roy Dean and the content he puts out. That said, it's not clear what the goal of this particular video is. The judo section was good; that's the part most like a traditional instructional. The aikido section was mostly useless to me as a BJJ practitioner. The BJJ section is a good survey of positions, but incredibly basic for anybody with more than a month of experience. I found it worth a watch from a casual interest standpoint, but it's not something I expect to refer back to.
Fantastic details from one of the best instructors out there
The Complete Williams Guard by Shawn Williams

Systematically Attacking The Guard: Half Guard Passing by Gordon Ryan
Gordon does a great job of emphasizing very important but more subtle concepts. if he said "crash the far shoulder" once, he said it 1,000 times. But that really went a long way in regard to how important he must feel about it. Many other examples just like that!
