Ageless Jiu Jitsu: Winning When You're Older and Less Athletic - Bottom game: Gi by John Danaher
Typical high quality GI instructional by John Danaher, teaching effective techniques with an overriding strategy. The techniques are taught with the necessary detail (e.g. the how and why) to ensure that they will work for you. With so many BJJ techniques available this instructional should assist you to focus your attention on the ones that will make your game better and more enjoyable from the bottom, particularly if you are an older or perhaps a less athletic BJJ student. It is worth noting that John Danaher has tons of credibility and importantly also fits the target market for this product (e.g. mid-fifties with a hip replacement). The instructional has a total runtime of 9 hours and 35 minutes. The video quality is typical of what is filmed at the BJJ Fanatics studio (i.e. fixed camera) and is consistent with the preview (volume 8 chapter 3 – Scissor sweep with Hiza Guruma on standing opponent) and the trailer. The other aspect that I liked for such a long instructional was that there was good rapport between the John Danaher and his ukes, which made it easier to watch.
