Just buy this
A great product to invest in particularly of seeking to apply grappling in a MMA setting. Even if you’re not into MMA you can apply the techniques covered into your game as great escape options from bottom side control and even when caught in submissions such as the arm triangle. After watching this you’ll challenge your previously held beliefs on the turtle and side control. Despite the title, this isn’t all about ‘standing up’. This will improve other areas of your game including half guard top, north south choke and arm triangle.

Awesome Octopus
Octopus With Pajamas by Eduardo Telles
I have been building my bottom half guard game for years now based on Danahers half guard series. The underhook half guard series is amazing and works really well but most people at my gym are aware of the threat of the underhook and will fight to not let you get it. This series really rounds out that equation. As soon as I started going to the other side I was immediately able to add lots of sweeps and back takes to my half guard game. If they are defending the underhook well or are reaching for the head to try to gain the cross face then swimming under on the passing side is available and you have the sweep or the back depending on the opponent's reaction. I would highly recommend this to anyone serious about bottom half guard. You can literally double your success rate in a short amount of time. Sometimes when trying to gain the underhook from bottom half I felt like I was trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. This series gives you smooth, unexpected transitions to a new series of attacks that when combined with traditional attacks will frustrate and impress your opponents and training partners.

Wrong Title But Decent Content
The White Belt Bible by Roy Dean
This set isn't much of a tutorial as it is a quick survey of three different grappling arts. The first volume is some quick demos of white belt judo throws. The second covers Aikido wrist locks and some fundamentals (i.e. Aikido white belt stuff). The third has basic BJJ Positions. The demonstrations on vol 4 were of little value. On volume 5, the Xande Ribiero piece is interesting, and the side control escape is good. So, if by "Bible" you're thinking it's some reference you'll go to for deeper understanding, then this is not that. It should be titled "White Belt Intro" or "Snap Shot Survey of Judo, Aikido, and JiuJitsu."

best
Lapel Chokes From Everywhere by Miko Hytonen

A novel approach
The Body Lock Pass by Lachlan Giles
I was using Danaher's body lock system - get super tight and scrape together enough room to get past a knee. It was effective, but grueling. I like Giles' system way better. He allows more room for counterplay, but its more dynamic, and much more fun. I've never been good at breaking closed guard but had some success with Sao Paolo. Giles fixed so many aspects of my Sao Paolo pass that now I'm using it regularly with a lot of success.
Effective and thorough
BJJ Front Headlock Series Part 1 by Andrew Calandrelli
Calandrelli's Front Headlock Series covers the position from standing and ground with a lot of interesting new takes and approaches I haven't encountered elsewhere. My training partners keep asking me to show them Calandrelli's takedowns, and I've been using his anaconda details to great effect. I'm excited to start working the Cement Mixer into my game.
