American Judo System: The Ashi Waza Encyclopedia by Jimmy Pedro & Travis Stevens
Sensei Travis Stevens teaches a great system of ashi waza techniques in a built up manner. You get movement patterns and solo drills followed by partner drills further into techniques and combos with versatile set ups. He points out again what to avoid and what to aim for and the consequences if you miss and the benefits if you get it done. As always he illustrates how to utilize your whole body. Great instructional!!

Spider Guard Tricks by Thamires Aquino
Professor Thamires shows a very nice mix of techniques originating from spider guard. I really enjoyed how she first explained guard recovery. She shows many set ups that put your opponent into x-guard and then submissions and sweeps from there. A lot of great stuff in this instructional. She explains in Portuguese and there is English commentary over the top which moves a little slow so honestly I watched the video at 1.25 speed and it was great.

A game changer, different view on mma
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Not traditional Lasso Guard
The Snake Lasso Guard by Hiago Gama
This is an interesting instructional because the position is not what you'd expect. This is not the traditional Lasso guard where you loop your foot over their arm with a sleeve grip. This is a completely different guard and it's mostly single leg X guard with additional control using the lapel. Some great sweeps and submissions in here and the position itself is going to be difficult for your opponent to pass.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Another Review Based on More Information
Knife Defense For The Street by Burton Richardson
I have really enjoyed this video, and I think it is the result of careful observation and experimentation. That Richardson has developed truly effective techniques in a life-or-death struggle with a modern edged weapon has proof in a conundrum he briefly alludes to in the video--viz., why certain techniques seen in medieval European manuscripts don't quite cut the mustard modernly. I did some research, and I have found the reasons why. First, medieval European clothing was quite thick, consisting of wool and leather. Seondly, to get through these materials, sharply pointed daggers were required, These daggers (bullocks and rondel) were not edged and were quite long, thus leading to different, often immediate disarms. The great medieval Italian martial artist Fiore dei Liberi created a well-known treatise on dagger fighting, In it, he shows different defenses illustrated by masters (fellows wearing crowns). Richardson's defense is a hybrid of Masters Six and Seven (if I remember correctly). Then it dawned on me that through trial and error, Richardson has come up with THE defense for the modern knife that is edged and markedly shorter that its medieval counterparts. Weapons determine tactics, and a change in technique (tactics) was absolutely necessary because of a change in weapons. That Richardson developed a subtle change in technique through intense empiricism to a change in the weapon convinces of the validity of his efforts.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Gives good drills to learn the Imanari Roll
The Imanari Roll And Modern Leg Attacks From Japan by Masakazu Imanari
I was originally a bit hesitant to pick up an instructional where I didn’t speak the same language as the instructor but I’m glad I did. The information is excellent and the translation was very well done with additional subtitling where they were concerned something wasn’t clear or accurate enough. All kinds of good information on leg attacks including ways to drill and practice the infamous Imanari roll.
