First tutorial
Foundations of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Bernardo Faria
This was my first purchased tutorial and made me feel a lot more confident going into my first classes
Awesome as always.
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
Awesome as always.
No longer the cutting edge, but still very nice stuff
Down Under Leg Attacks by Craig Jones
In 2017, this instructional was flat-out revolutionary. In 2023, when we've been well into the leg lock renaissance for a few years, it's no longer the absolute game-changer that it used to be, but the material here is still extremely important to master for anyone who wants to play leg locks at a high level. The "meta" at the top level has changed- in this instructional Craig spends a lot of time working on the saddle position, for example, in contrast to how he shows a more diversified set of techniques in his more-recent Systematic Submission Dilemmas- but if you're competing at the level where that would matter, you knew that already. If you've stayed up to date on B-Team/ New Wave instructionals in the last couple years, you might have seen some of this already, but it's still an excellent entry point for those who are looking for their first leg lock instructional.
Excellent
The Complete Crucifix Back Attack System by Marcelo Garcia
Really great instruction on a great position by one of the best around.
Must have class in understanding the triangle choke!
The Triangle Machine by Craig Jones
Craig is a good teacher and his technical knowledge is high up there! I was very happy with this course
Coach Neil Melanson did another
The Science of Filthy Triangles by Neil Melanson
Coach Neil Melanson did another outstanding instructinal! This one is about triangles form closed guard and K-guard set ups and some half guard set ups too. For myself the most important section was the break down of the ideal lock of the triangle as well as the uniion of the legs and amrs to finish non-traditional triangles - ones where you may see the shoulder and did not get certain angles. Another great value for me is the kumura series within this insturctional as well as the concept of always going for the triangle and the arm if availaible or can be get available. The instructions are underlined by overall concepts of the given positions and on point and in an logical order to make an easy understanding happen. Highly recommend!
Fantastical
Wrestling Fundamentals From The Bad Guy by Chael Sonnen
Chael has the ability to teach in a thoughtful, informative and enthusiastic manner. If you thought all Chael could do was talk to get into fights and then be grind heavy to win, think again. He has a vast knowledge and I would say underrated and underappreciated in his ideas and theories about trapping. This is a great price for some fundamentals from the gangster himself, I was definitely not expecting much but what Chael delivered was a masterclass.
Definitely worth the investment
The Budokon Mobility System by Cameron Shayne and Xande Ribeiro
This material is already helping my body to adapt. Incredible!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Awesome as always
Half Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
This might be my favourite of the Go Further Faster series. I have quite short legs so I've found some closed guard stuff challenging. I really like that half guard is accessible to all body types and am excited to put some of these insights into action. There's some overlap with the Pin Escapes series of course. But I like that they build off each other and reiterate important info. I have used the pin escapes videos to get out from bottom side control and mount. Now this series is the next step to transitioning into my own offense.
Nice
The Straight Armlock Anthology by Lachlan Giles
Nice
A great routine and good
Judo @ Home Workouts by Travis Stevens
A great routine and good guide to having some great sessions Loved it
Latest Charles Harriott "Defense To Offense..." Helped me a lot
Defense To Offense: Attacking From The Elbow Frame by Charles Harriott
Volume 1 of this instructional is some of the best teaching material I've seen all year. If you want to improve your understanding of entering into the saddle or knee bar from bottom, and you aren't quite getting it clean look no further. I also enjoy the other volumes but the first volume is my new gold standard for breaking techniques down into small bites and digesting them so that when I drill it/roll the techniques actually come to fruition against live resistance. Charles and Natasha really understand how to teach so that concepts and actions so that each function of the technique is covered and understood. I am not losing any energy to frustration or failure anymore and my confidence in my bottom entries for saddle (and butt judo too) continue to grow. It's also very easy to come back to steps as they teach it like pyramid style where after each technique is shown, there's a section showing them all together, and then a 2nd breakdown of each step of the technique for troubleshooting ( learning in layers).
Response from BJJ Fanatics:clap::clap:Very nice stuff for half guard players
Sweep The World by Leonardo Saggioro
This instructional is a bit more focused than the title would imply- rather than sweeps in general, this is specifically a course on sweeps from bottom half in the gi (not exclusively, but Leonardo spends a lot of time covering his lapel sweep system). I'm not much of a half guard player, but I still felt like the concepts were explained well, and I particularly liked the wrestle-up sweeps shown in the second half- as more of an MMA guy, I'm definitely getting the most use out of them. Would recommend if you're interested in improving your bottom-half game in the gi.
Loved it
Standing2Ground: Positional Dominance & Scrimmage Wrestling by John Danaher
Always learn new concept from his series
Must-watch for wrestling beginners
Winning First Contact by Zach Tanelli
A lot of BJJ guys who don't have prior wrestling experience really struggle with setting up takedowns. If you're not comfortable handfighting, this is a must-watch. This is not a "takedown" instructional per se, but if you're struggling to even get to positions where you can attempt a takedown, this is extremely important. Very useful for those struggling to get to get past the beginner level of stand-up.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Lots of cool details
Footlock Revolution by Daniel De Groot
Excellent instructional that focuses on foot lock and heel hook dilemmas. For someone who's trying to learn the modern leglock game, watching Daniel's techniques helped my understanding immensely. Slight audio issues aside, I highly recommend this instructional.
Great Video for beginners
Kimura Hunting by Kazushi Sakuraba
Teaches the standing kimura and different ways to finish it. Don't know if experienced grapplers will get a lot out of it but it was great for a white belt. Even pulled it off in rolling.

Rubber Guard: Concepts From Half Guard by Richie Martinez
The small details from this instructional changed my rubber guard game. Instructions are very clear, good camera angles and audio. Well worth it
One of the best-value takedown instructionals available
This is definitely one of the shorter takedown instructionals on here- that being said, you get a lot of bang for your buck. You're getting the techniques that Ed Ruth personally favored and his own tips and tricks for executing them- it's not necessarily a comprehensive system, but if you want to incorporate any of these techniques into your game, it's 100% worth watching this to get insight into how one of the greats used them. I especially appreciated how he takes the time to go over setups- against a competent opponent, that's more than half the battle. Would highly recommend for beginning wrestlers and those looking to touch up their game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:fire:Great mini course

Highly effective leg lock defence
Worry Free Escapes by Dean Lister
Highly recommended to learn about effective defence of and escapes from leg attacks. In addition, one section deals with some highly practical concepts for defence against guillotine chokes, side control pins, arm-locks and double-wrist locks. I could already test many of the concepts and techniques in sparring and so far, they work 100% of the time.
Top notch instructional
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: A New Philosophy Of Positional Escapes by John Danaher
Gives you all the principles and techniques you need to not only get out of bad situations and threaten your own.
escapes
Submission Escapes by Tom DeBlass
great for beginner through advance practitioners. I've used these escapes as a white belt all the way through brown belt. You can't go wrong from learning from Tom!
Bo knows takedowns. 'Nuff said.
Bo Knows Takedowns by Bo Nickal
Overall, this instructional is great. The emphasis here is definitely on Bo's favorite techniques, so it's worth looking at the table of contents to see if he covers your favorite, but everyone can benefit from watching how he approaches some of wrestling's most classic takedowns, and his discussion on setups alone is worth the price. Would highly recommend for anyone with an interest in the standup game.
Great video

The Pena Back Attack System: Retention, Control, Submissions by Felipe Pena Preguica
This is by far the best back attack/retention instructional with the gi. Felipe is one of the bests to ever do it and was always very known for his back mount.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Deep 1/2 Master
Deep Half Guard Evolution by Jeff Glover
Glover’s teaching style reminds me of a wizened old monk from a Kung fu movie. I’ve had a hard time wrapping my head around deep 1/2 for some reason, and Glover’s instruction has definitely helped me begin to crack the code. Awesome teacher.
