Middle Aged BJJ 2: No Gi by Tom DeBlass
As an newly crowned old guy (I'm 40), I approve of this video. Definitely focused on old guys and not just general technique. Tom Deblass presents it well. I love deep half guard so I like seeing that in the video.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Catching armlocks everywhere
The Armlock Obsession by Dave Camarillo
I thought my Juji Gatame game was getting better before. Then I watched this instructional and realized I knew nothing compared to the knowledge I’m gaining from Dave’s Armlock Obsession.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Excellent
Submissions From Everywhere by JT Torres
It’s JT Torres - his competition resume speaks for itself. Great presentation style and solid overall instructional. I’ve also got his ‘No Gi Fundamentals Bottom Game’ and that is just as good.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Train smart, not hard
Systematically Attacking The Guard by Gordon Ryan
I can only train on average 2-3 days per week due to work and parenting commitments. However, I have spent more time watching Gordons and Danahers instructionals than I have in mat time, and tbh have seen a massive improvement on the mats having studied these. Its not about training hard anymore, it really is about training smart.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great

Foundations of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Bernardo Faria
Works very well as a sort of encyclopedia where you can quickly reference a topic.
This has improved my defense
The Pillars of Defense: Pin Escapes - Defensive to Offensive Cycles by Gordon Ryan
This has improved my defense pretty drastically. I’ve bought more of Danahers than Gordon’s since I do more Gi than NoGi, I was a little skeptical if Gordon’s instructionals would apply but surely enough everything has been a game changer.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great instruction
Systematically Attacking From Open Guard Seated Position by Gordon Ryan
Great instruction
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great overview of De La Riva guard!
De La Riva Fundamentals by Danny Stolfi
I'm pretty new to de la riva and needed a guide to kickstart my understanding of the guard. Danny's instructional has given me plenty to chew on for a while. The techniques are clear and he covers why and when you would choose certain techniques over others. I've found success with reviewing two or three techniques at a time, then trying them out in practice to have multiple options to attack with. I would recommend this to anyone without much de la riva knowledge who is looking to speed up their progression.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Fundamentals, theory and practice, everything I was looking for
Standing2Ground: Takedowns & Standing Skills For Jiu Jitsu by John Danaher
I love how John's instructionals always take a deep read into the theory and fundamentals rather than leaving us with just techniques on the air. This will leave us with a game better adapted to our tastes and needs, totally satisfied with what I am learning from this instructional 🙏
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Nothing like obtaining Danaher knowledge
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
Danaher courses has made me so confident on the mat and I actually feel bad for my fellow training partners. Most people just lake the knowledge to be better and Danaher course impart priceless knowledge that others will take notice when they train with you.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great Introduction
Foundations of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Bernardo Faria
Fantastic Introduction to show concepts and understand terminology.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Everything is well explained, set
Home Run Derby: Baseball Chokes From Everywhere by Magid Hage
Everything is well explained, set ups and all.
A must have
Escapes are key, the first step to cover in your bjj instruction. Learning from an athlete that won everything and had never been hold in a pin (guard passed) had a great appeal for me. Instead of teaching only techniques he explains the principles that rule that part of bjj. A must have.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Awesome!
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Open Guard vol 2: Sweeps and Reversals by John Danaher
Really revolutionized my understanding the mechanics of sweeping and reversals from open guard. Video is well formatted as always and easy to digest! 100/10
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great for staying safe and counter-attacking
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: A New Philosophy Of Positional Escapes by John Danaher
This video is great to help improve defense and counter-attack skills.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Really important and undervalued topic.
Exit The System by Garry Tonon
At the risk of sounding like a used car salesman, this is the kind of instructional that has something for pretty much everyone. Defense, specifically submission defense is a necessary skill we have to pursue to be any good. But what sets this one apart is the level of detail in the moves themselves as well as the concepts/principles that gives the ”why” behind behind the techniques. Garry also gives us the idea of counter attacks from out of escapes which is a skillset that’s pretty undertrained for a lot of folks. You’ll come out of this with a set of new “go to” escapes for sure.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:John Appeared to Me in a Dream
Standing2Ground: Takedowns & Standing Skills For Jiu Jitsu by John Danaher
Logically, I felt confused as to the nature of his visit but upon further inquiry I ascertained it was in fact related to a purchase I made. He spoke to me of strangulations, control, and breaking pressure, which all worked wonders for my marriage. I'm sure it all applies to grappling too so I'd highly recommend anything this man puts out.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:game changing - gi , no-gi, or self defense all the same
Survive and Escape by Matt Thornton
This was really a game-changing video . First Matt teaches how to make your pins INCREDIBLY heavy and then he shows how to survive and escape under the worst possible conditions. When i bought this i expected to see escapes but the Top pinning ideas were a huge bonus and worth the price alone. My training partners are SUFFERING :>)
