Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Over under masterclass
No Gi Pressure Passing by Bernardo Faria
Learn how to land and utilize the overunder pass in any situation!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Amazing!
Viking Guards by Tommy Langaker and Espen Mathiesen
Langaker is a top competitor, a great teacher (along with Mathiesen) and you will get tons of stuff perfectly explaining. loved the material - compared to the passing one, is really "new school oriented"... but i really enjoyed it. great lesson without being pedantic. hope the viking series will not stop here.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:how to fall in love
The Collar and Sleeve System Part 1: Outside Control On The Knees by Mikey Musumeci
It's the first video of mikey I've seen. "paying attention to details" really has a new meaning to me. an amazing instructional, if you are patient and follow this great teacher.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Phenomenal. PLEASE MAKE MORE INSTRUCTIONALS BENIEL
The MMA Bodylock by Beneil Dariush
Wonderful instructional. We currently have 2 guys fighting in July against some wrestlers, so this has been helping us reverse engineer more bodylock defense. Appreciate you for it! I absolutely love the structure to beneil's instructionals. They're broken up by situation as opposed to techniques, which I find extremely helpful for knowing when to do what technique.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Excellent Content
Systematically Attacking the Turtle Position by Gordon Ryan
Very Systematic and excellent content.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Eye-opening experience
Kimura: Enter The System by John Danaher
From Enter The System, this would be my second recommendation after Back Attacks. Kimura has always been one of my favorite submissions but my effectiveness with it has greatly enhanced thanks to Danaher. Using kimura grip for control and transition and leg assisting variations were enlightening concepts and nowadays I use cross and T-kimuras regularly. Very versatile and comprehensive.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:The perfect match
The Butterfly Half Guard by Tom DeBlass
This is one of the best instructionals I’ve ever purchased. I’ve always played half-guard and butterfly guard. Here Tom shows how to perfectly blend them together. If you favor any of these two guards, then it’s a must for you. Great for the older grappler.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great instructional! Easy to follow
No Gi Fundamentals Bottom Game by JT Torres
Great instructional! Easy to follow with in detail explanations by the teacher🙏
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Amazing
Great instructional. I have a wrestling background and usually opt for passing over guard play. However, this instructional has given me a great system to start playing open guard more often and has given me great options from the bottom position.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:worth it
Attack The attacker by Marcelo Garcia
a "different" video, more on the approach (with clear examples) than on the techniques or principles. MG (probably the GOAT) give you great examples of how to use the loopholes in an aggressive opponent techniques as an opportunity. strange, but still great job.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great addition to your guard
Diamond Concept: The Diamond Guard Frame, Shield, Elegant, Pedal by Xande Ribeiro
The best thing in this instructional is that the concepts taught by Xande Ribeiro can be added to virtually any kind of guard you play. You won’t have to change your game to take advantage of the knowledge you’ll learn here. This instructional contains all you need to know about framing. Highly recommended.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Complete guard game
Butterfly Guard Re-Discovered by Adam Wardzinski
If you look for Adam Warzinsky fights on YouTube, you’ll find that he sweeps every single opponent using the butterfly guard. Together with Marcelo Garcia, Adam is probably the highest authority on this guard in the world. In this instructional, he lays down a complete game plan around the butterfly guard, showing submissions, sweeps and back takes alike. Already a classic and a must have.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Versatile and Offensive Guard
Advanced Guard Systems by Neil Melanson
Neil demonstrates, as he usually does, how to increase the pressure and threaten the opponent using out of the box concepts and techniques. Here you have his take on the closed guard, as well as the K guard, which is great for sport BJJ and street/MMA. Great stuff!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:New ways of exploring an old guard
Side Closed Guard Attacks by Xande Ribeiro
As the new generation created new open guards almost on a daily basis, the good old closed guard remained almost forgotten by many. Big mistake, as Xande Ribeiro showed again and again on high level competition. Here Xande shows how to make the closed guard a highly offensive weapon. You’ll learn to force the opponent to choose between giving his back or be swept or submitted. Don’t miss it.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:old school, but still good
Mastering The Lasso Guard by Marcos Tinoco
the approach is quite old school, especially toward the teaching method. in any case, it's a really good introduction to the position.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:really good principles
Mirroring Principle: End Game Finishers by Wim Deputter
deputter teaches by principles - a method I love. deserves a chance, the video is packed with good stuff.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:I am glad I bought it
High Percentage Chokes: No Gi by Lachlan Giles
Systematic approach to the techniques. He is not only teaching the submission as a single technique, but gives you a context, entries to the position, control, action-reaction solutions, troubleshooting. Cover the chokes from different position as guard, top half guard, north south, inverted north south and standing. Give some tips how to adapt the move to your body type. I am glad I bought it. Lachlan is one of the best instructors on the site.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Shawn Williams covers a lot
The Essential Shin To Shin System by Shawn Williams
Shawn Williams covers a lot of details about how the shin to shin setup can be used for leg attack entries, sweeps and back takes. I liked a lot of the setups covered and hope to implement them into my game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Amazing
The Daisy Fresh Side Control System by Andrew Wiltse
Great instructional. Really amazing details on maintaining and advancing positions in side control. I've been hitting a lot of the submissions in training the past few weeks. 10/10 recommend.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:best k guard instructional... in a GI
K Guard and Matrix System: Attacking The Legs From The Knees Part 1 by Mikey Musumeci
best k guard instructional for those who roll in the Gi. as always, mikey provides the most detailed instructional video that can be filmed. great work.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great Series
The Complete Butterfly Guard by Marcelo Garcia
Tough position to master for me. This instructional is definitely helping!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:revolutionary
Tactical Turtle by Neil Melanson
transform a "weak" position in a mino of opportunities. great approach from neil... a really open minded guy that breaks the usual grappling mental paths with a lot of innovation.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:pure gold
The Scarf Hold The Soul Stealer by Henry Akins
worth every penny and maybe more. do a proper scarf hold is like having a whole new arsenal. most of the opponents will not able to manage it. simply loved it... and Henry is a great teacher.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:different view, useful hints
The Lockdown Blueprint by Tom DeBlass
as i half guard player, I started using the position with the eddie bravo's old dvds. deblass really hit the nail, giving a new view on the position outside the 10th planet system and adapted to the modern grappling. well done.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Easy to understand
The Grilled Chicken Guard Retention System by Priit Mihkelson
Good concepts, I look forward to using this in class
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:good instructional
The BJJ Warm Up You'll Never Skip by Vanessa Pinkham
used to do it a lot (and love it) until i really got into yoga. Still, it helped me a lot and, if you want something easier, is absolutely perfect.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Highly recommend for everyone
Back Attacks Enter The System by John Danaher
One of the first instructionals I devoured from start to finish. It helped me to deal with the blue belt blues by allowing me to take charge of my own learning process. Straitjacket and back triangle particularly were great addition for my game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:game changer
Understanding The Distance From Guard by Gui Mendes
gui mendes introduced a new way to teach. love it or hate it, it's different from anything here around. worth a shot, i learnt a lot.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Different Approach
Connected Reaction Second Guard (Defense and Escape from Side control) by Paul Schreiner
I highly recommend this instructional, as it contains information you won’t find anywhere else. Paul Schreiner is Marcelo Garcia’s main instructor, and it shows in the precise way he teaches his concepts. The elbow push escape alone is worth the price, and is a demonstration of MG unique and efficient style of Jiu-Jitsu.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Exceptional passing instructional!
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
John Danaher delivers again. Exceptional high quality product.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:hate him or love him
Submissions or Nothing by Nicholas Meregali
but he is a great fighter. he is young and he doesn't hold back in giving you all the details to improve your game. really enjoyed.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great conceptual passing series
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
A great passing series that's taught based on concepts rather than individual techniques. Allows you to adapt the instruction to your game and body type. Danaher is a great teacher
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Only The Finest Technique
Taking down Bigger Opponents by Jay Rodriguez
Jay Rod is one of the best jiu jitsu athletes in the world I would highly recommend learning from him! I'm really looking foward to improving my takedowns with this instructional 🙏 Osu :bow::martial_arts_uniform:
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Minimalistic approach
The Grilled Chicken Guard Retention System by Priit Mihkelson
The open guard is a very challenging position for the beginner, as well as for the advanced grappler sometimes. There are too many options (sweeps, submissions, back takes etc.) and it’s easy to get lost and not have your priorities down. That’s when Pritt’s minimalistic approach comes to your help. He mainly tells you what NOT to do, rather than showing a thousand different techniques. Easy to understand and apply, no matter what kind of open guard you play.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Where all the other guards meet
Classic Open Guard by Lucas Valente
The classic open guard is where you have access to all the other guards. It’s a highly offensive guard as well, as Lucas shows here, enabling you to shoot for omoplatas and triangles, mainly. As a Kron Gracie fan, this was a great add to my game. Highly recommended for older grapplers.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Cradle Everyone
The Blackout Hybrid Pin and Cradle System by David Petrone
Incredible techniques to really diversify any grapplers game. Very happy with this purchase and adding some sneaky creativity to my game. #cradlestrong
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:The evolution of choking techniques
High Percentage Chokes: No Gi by Lachlan Giles
Having started BJJ in the distant year of 1995, I remember a time when no gi chokes where mainly guilhotines and a few variations. As the sport evolved, anacondas and d’arces appeared and being on all fours was suddenly not safe anymore. Here Lachlan shows with minute detail how to set up and finish these lethal chokes. It’s amazing how such a young man can become a true BBJ encyclopedia. Almost all he shows can be used in the gi as well, with a few adjustments. Great instructional.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Great resource for a newer student
The Straight Armlock Anthology by Lachlan Giles
Really good foundational video series. Lachlan is a fantastic instructor. Thanks for including the part about reducing back pain during armbars. Lol
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:simply perfect
The Straight Armlock Anthology by Lachlan Giles
lachlan is the gold standard for the instructional videos in 2022. this one is really packed with information and details. i will never regret the time i spent studying it.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:great BUT READ CAREFULLY
Inside The Closed Guard by Henry Akins
Agree with the other reviewer. The instructional is amazing. but (it's a big BUT) I'm a fan of Akins and own lot of his instructional videos (almost all on the site). if you have the escapes ones (armlock&chokes), half of the video is a repetition. Of the other half, a part is a repetition of itself with older footage (Henry has short hairs), with minimal differences. instruction are good? definitively are the details great as usual? yes but lot of the stuff here is already seen in other akins instructionals, or even in the same instructional (!) I Would recommend this video only if you want to pick only one. if you are interested in Akins system (that i LOVE), I would avoid - especially considered the price. BJJFanatics fantastic in giving me a refund as soon as I explained my motivations.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:It has it all
Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
As usual, John has done a really great job of gathering all information you’ll ever need about the subject at hand: escaping pins. It’s all there, don’t look anywhere else, and the techniques he teaches are tested in world level competition. It’s a must have.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Fantastic cutting edge instructional
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
No need to look beyond what Danaher teaches. If you want to be the best you.. learn from the best
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Very interesting, and good details
The Daisy Fresh Knee Slice by Andrew Wiltse
Very interesting, and good details
Dominate in Mount
The Peak Mount by Waldo Zapata
So the first time I watched this instructional, I felt overwhelmed. As with all instructionals there is alot to process at once, especially if you watch it in one go (which I always do because I just bought the DVD :grinning_face_with_star_eyes:). However, throughout the whole instructional Waldo stuck to a few key concepts that must be fullfilled in order to successfully work off of the Peak Mount. This way of teaching it stick better, since you go back to the mats with a clear ”top of mind”. Then upon rewatching, that is when it really starts to be a part of your game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Dominate in Mount!
The Peak Mount by Waldo Zapata
Throughout the whole instructional Waldo spoke clearly and stuck to a few key concepts that must be fulfilled in order to successfully work off of the Peak Mount. I find this way of teaching highly effective as it makes the information stick better. It enabled me to go back to the mats with a clear ”top of mind”. Then upon rewatching, that is when it really starts to be a part of the game. Thumbs up!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Top notch no-gi instructional
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
Another excellent series from John Danaher. I was able to quickly implement passes from this system into my game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Good stuff
I have yet to go through the entire instructional (1 volume in so far). But I've already been able to apply the concept during a roll. Looking forward to the rest!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Excellent!
The Daisy Fresh Knee Slice by Andrew Wiltse
This instructional has really helped in understanding the mechanics and how to hit it from headquarters. It has become my go-to pass.
