Great for Survival
Ultimate Choke Escapes by Henry Akins
This video is awesome from a survival perspective, and it will benefit students at all levels. He gives the big picture and the small details for each technique. Once a choke is set, you have very small margin for error. Henry shows you how to make better decisions in those situations. To survive is to win…
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Turtle guard plus much more.
The Turtle Guard Revisited by Eduardo Telles
All the reviews at the time of writing this review focus on the turtle guard content, but there is much more including: a side control escape; teaching how to defend the back plus multiple techniques to escape back control effectively and efficiently; how to setup an ankle pick from open guard and from standing; and a series of submission entries for the kimura. Turtle guard coverage includes movement, multiple sweeps, avoiding submissions (i.e., clock choke, crucifix, front headlock and loop choke); entering submissions from the turtle position (e.g., turtle-plata); and the final chapter of the second volume is a brief summary of the core turtle guard techniques. Eduardo Telles is easy to understand, he speaks in a deliberate and knowledgeable manner. The demonstrations are clear and easy to understand. He engages with the audience and for me this made it more enjoyable to watch (e.g., positive interactions with his uke). The instructional has been filmed with a fixed camera. The quality of the video is good, as is the range (perfect) and there are no notable issues with the microphone. The available previews are consistent with the whole instructional. In my opinion the knowledge gained from viewing and studying this instructional will be used regularly in rolling, particularly if you are rolling with a larger or more mobile opponent. It is truly an important instructional to add to your library and represents good value. This is two volume instructional and has a total runtime of 1 hour and 18 minutes.

Tom is a clearly knowledgeable grappler and he breaks down peoples sticking points in half guard in a way that’s simple but still communicates effective technique. This could of easily been a $100+ course with how thorough it is. Amazing value

Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
I went from stuck under 300lb monsters to them being scared to even try and pin me. I can’t thank John enough. These techniques work and work well even if you’re training partners are much larger
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Complete system for everyone
The Battle Tested Half Guard by Bernardo Faria
Throughout my fist years of training BJJ, i didnt have a systematic approach as is more regular today. After beeing away from BJJ for about one year, and not having a system i picked up this instructional together with Battle Tested Pressure Passing to get me started. I had immediate success both in competition and in training and it has been my base for expanding my game and developing for the last 4 years. The system Bernardo teaches is easy, straight to the point, and will get you sweeping and passing in no time. Now, a 3-stripe brown belt closing in on my black belt, owning and going through many instructionals, I can easily say this has been the one that has impacted me the most.

Butterfly Guard Re-Discovered by Adam Wardzinski
He helped me a lot to understand the butterfly guard which I like it. All his concept they are easy to use without fancy moves and his style is to direct to the point. He shows a lot of techniques and concepts. Thanks !
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:Comprehensive butterfly sweep instructional
The Complete Butterfly Guard by Marcelo Garcia
The instructional has a great focus on butterfly sweeps from various positions rather than submission. It contains a lot of useful details. However there’s also a lot of repetition which can be exhausting at times.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great showcase of old school jiujitsu
Pure Jiu Jitsu by Luis Heredia
Great demonstration of principles with practical techniques you can use. The volumes span top game (lots of knee on belly) and submissions, closed guard (can opener defence) and weight distribution/pressure passing. It's not a comprehensive list of techniques, but rather a conceptional and philosophical approach; old school and self defence focused. Minor negatives are that his demo partner chats too much (very distracting) and the chapter markers are missing on volume three for some reason. Great buy if you want some no-nonsense old school BJJ demos and advice.
Put that annoying Judo expert in the class on his butt!
Feet To Floor: Volume 1 Fundamental Standing Skills by John Danaher
Great instructional by Professor Danaher! There are 2 things that had an instant impact from the series. - Having a strategy to get dominant grips ! Securing strong grips on your opponent that allow you to throw them but at the same time leaving them with febble grips meaning their chances of putting you on the mat are next to zero. - Focusing on simple take downs that are easy and designed for BJJ (low back exposure and unlikely to get sprawled upon by a 200lb wrestler). The results were impressive: - Within a month I was surprised when I blocked a Brown belt judo guy's flashy throw and used a very simple and satisfying ankle pick to pop him on his back side. - In the last two competitions when securing dominant grips you could see the panic/frustration on my opponents faces as they were baffled by what to do next. Resulting in take downs for me, or such a poor attempt by my opponent it was easy to stay standing, leaving them on the floor for a quick guard pass. My only criticism is there are so many great details, it's hard to remember all the variations of take downs. This series is one I will watch again and again to mine new tips and ideas.

Upper Body Takedowns For Grappling by Adam Wheeler
I really like these videos. I've been through them once, plan to study and practice it quite a bit. There's a lot there. Basically a complete no-gi upper body takedown system. Wheeler does a good job explaining the details of the moves and the setups. As a former high-school wrestler, I learned a couple of new techniques from these videos. I kinda wish I had wrestled Greco now...
