Simple pass powerful details
No Gi Pressure Passing by Bernardo Faria
This instructional is fantastic. Giving one strong position to start from simplified my approach to passing and stopped me from getting inside my own head trying to make a decision on which pass to initiate. Great details on how to create and maintain pressure.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Improved my half guard fast!
The Half Guard Anthology by Lachlan Giles
I've had many higher belts say that my half guard feels tight and dangerous. My sweeps and back takes have improved tremendously from half guard with this instructional and I haven't even studied the whole DVD yet.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Fundamentally changed my whole game
Leglocks: Enter The System by John Danaher
I watched the video series over and over again. Occasionally I'd train privately with one other partner. After roughly a year and a half of this its not uncommon for me to catch brown belts and other that generally operate at a much high level than me. Its a whole system that generally isn't very well understood by the JJ community. Transitioning back and forth from leg attacks to upper body attacks will also increase the success of your upper body attacks. Put in the work and you'll fly by your peers.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:A brilliant an innovative addition to Jiu-Jitsu
The Snap Guard by Neil Melanson
This is a great concept that blends wrestling with Jiu Jitsu. Snap Guard and the Shin Whizzer are a great way to take the fight to your opponent.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:This stuff is gold!
Escapes from Everywhere by Bernardo Faria
Reviewing this pin & submission escapes DVD has really improved my defensive game overall, there were some concepts that I was lacking that this instructional covered. The only reason that I'm not giving it 5 stars is because knee on belly escapes were not covered. Other than that small detail, I highly recommend it.

Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
Mr Danaher's system is simple to understand and effective. That said, a large degree of the effectiveness of his program (any program TBH) relies on your ability to grasp his concept well (which he explains in great clear detail). I have not had any instructor explain to me concepts of Jiu-Jitsu like Mr Danaher. As a newbie white belt at 35 years old, I am able to keep up with teens and young adults who are one belt level above me with only a 4 months of training. Rest assured I will be purchasing more of 'Go Further Faster' series in the near future.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Exceptional value
Systematically Attacking The Guard by Gordon Ryan
Exceptionally good passing instructional. Everything is systematically laid out in an easily learned format and has proven to be incredibly effective at the gym. Also nothing he teaches requires extraordinary athleticism, strength , or flexibility. These are techniques/systems that EVERYONE can use.

Down Under Leg Attacks by Craig Jones
Craig Jones conveys a lot of information in very simple and easy to digest terms. He breaks everything down in a practical way. Even if you're already studying leg locks, you'll most likely pick up small important details that you can use right away.

Automatic Omoplata System by Clark Gracie
Excellent!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:It's a must own
Systematically Attacking the Turtle Position by Gordon Ryan
It's difficult to say anything about Gordon Ryan that hasn't either been said by someone else or that hasn't been definitely demonstrated by him in competition. I'll simply say that if you care at all about your skills vastly improving, purchase this and all of his other instructional videos. As I write this the corona virus pandemic is sweeping the country and many academies are shutting down for a little or reducing classes. If you're going to be at home anyway, might as well use that transportation money to get better at your game. In addition, you would be learning from the current champion who is probably not even at his prime yet. There's very little reason not to purchase this if you actually care about learning. Cannot thank the team enough for putting this content out.
Response from BJJ FanaticsThanks for your review! Enjoy!terrific DVD
Escapes from Everywhere by Bernardo Faria
I am a white belt nearing blue and have watched most of the two pressure passing DVDs in the gi. I initially came to the site over a year ago to pick up some DVD's to help me keep from getting crushed under mount and side control (the Danaher Escapes DVD helped me a ton from mount, but even though I understand his side control stuff, I'm still stuck there often, which is part of why I picked up this DVD. I want to be able to escape without trying to get the opponent to take mount for me to do so. My issue seems to be not making space with the outside elbow effectively). I have the no gi half guard video, but at the time I bought it, it was too advanced for me to follow and retain (though half guard is becoming my game now so I'll be returning to it soon and think it will be much easier now). One critique I have of the past videos of Bernardo's that I watched was the verbal explanation of the moves wasn't always clear or specific to what he was doing (i.e. "put this arm like that" vs "I need to bring this elbow to the floor so that he can't do xyz"). You could follow if you watched intently and it was very useful, but it didn't always give the language needed to for a noob to retain it and if you had your attention divided at all you weren't going to get it. This video is different, by far the clearest explanations I've heard Bernardo give. I can understand what he's saying just by listening 90% of the time, which adds a lot of value and helps make sure I really do understand what I'm seeing if there is any doubt. It's also very versatile in that it covers a lot of situations and it has a couple of details I haven't seen on other materials. I'm half way though and have caught a few things I haven't seen in other videos or in practice yet and think I'll be able to implement them pretty quickly once I'm back on the mats. Actually, talking about the language/vocabulary has me thinking a useful thing for noobs to the sport would be if this site had a glossary of terms/moves/positions including non English names. I think it would help a lot of people follow videos or even less technically spoken coaches at practice. I know colored belts that look at me funny if I ask about kesa gatame or scarfhold as they only know it as side control.

Back Attacks Enter The System by John Danaher
Greatly increased my effectiveness from the back. John does such an outstanding job explaining a complex system. He breaks down what essential positions lead to subs and what positions lead to failure. I was able to use some of these techniques last night to sub a 3 stripe purple which was a first for me

The Upside Down: Inverted Attacks by Jon Blank
I am lucky enough to learn from coach Blank(THOR) two to three days a week in person. If you cant, this instructional video series is what you need, the next best thing. Some of the best instructional training anywhere. Coach Blank is detailed, helps you to think outside your box, and adds weapons to your repertoire. He's one of the best in the world and shows you why.

Solo And Partner Grappling Drills For Rapid Improvement by Tom DeBlass
I'll buy anything Tom does after watching this one. He breaks things down and explains positions very well. Took notes and working on everything he said. Plan on getting his Submission escapes next.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:The BEST half guard instructional!
The Half Guard Anthology by Lachlan Giles
This is the best half guard collection. Most are just collections of moves, Giles gives a more complete breakdown of not just the moves but his preferences of positions, entries and when to try. It is also invaluable to see his live footage. Can’t say enough, the BEST half guard instructional.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::hugging:GREAT rubber guard guide
Rubber Guard: The Meathook by Brandon McCaghren
Great rubber guard instructional that covers more than just the meathook. Brandon takes you through the basic path and alternate routes. This is a great guide that helps with leading you down the most efficient paths when dealing with varying positional situations and defenses you will come across when utilizing the rubber guard. You wont regret adding this to your collection.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::hugging:Best Omoplata Instructional (I know because I own them all...)
Automatic Omoplata System by Clark Gracie
This instructional is fantastic. The entries that Clark Gracie shows are fundamental and intermediate level entries that just work. This isn't about fancy omoplata entries that you would never do in a competition. This is tried and true competition tested omoplata material that he has been using for years. The entries are hardly the best part though. There are a million ways you can get into an omoplata, and it's what happens from there where this instructional really shines. My favorite part of this instructional, and it is all solid gold, is Part 3 where he covers all the counters to omoplata defenses. At the start of this instructional, he mentions that a lot of people look at the omoplata primarily as a sweeping position, but he views it as always an opportunity to get the finish. Learning the counters to the defenses and dealing with scenarios where you can't get into perfect finishing position is absolutely game changing if you love omoplatas. Here's the bottom line: I love everything omoplata, and I have purchased pretty much every resource on the omoplata. This one covers a number of details and concepts that 1) I haven't seen anyone else teach, and 2) have had the biggest impact on my omoplata game compared to any other omoplata instructional. There's a reason Clark Gracie is known for his omoplata finishes in competition. It has helped my game step up, and I definitely recommend this instructional.

The Mirroring Principle: Back Defense & Being Offensive by Wim Deputter
This series is an excellent system that teaches you how to get creative and develop a fresh approach how you are currently learning BJJ. You will find yourself discovering new ideas on how to solve old questions regarding positions, leverage and control. Original in its approach and it will add much value to your game.

Passing the Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
After years of frustration in my learning of Jiujitsu in a disorderly manner, I could finally feel secure after purchasing and watching Danaher's instructional DVD's, especially his fundamental series. Because I got and viewed his DVD's on pins and escapes, guard retention, closed guard, half guard, open guard, I so earnestly waited for this DVD on Guard Passing. With this newcomer, I now feel like I have a full circle of knowledge from survival to attack. Already while watching through his previous videos, I have noticed that now I am more and more understanding the mechanisms of BJJ and becoming more rational with my moves. I am sure I will be more strategic, when I attempt to pass my opponents's guards. I give my great appreciations for this DVD to John Danaher. You're the greatest teacher any BJJ practitioners can ever imagine.

Wrist Lock The World by Pete Letsos
PTG does a great job describing the endless variations of wrist locks that he figured out. Due to a back injury he was forced to play a more conservative game and what he cane up with was gold. Explained in a straight forward style, Pete doesn’t mince words. He gets right into the action with techniques you can apply immediately. I’m glad that this video is finally out, and Pete’s legacy is cemented. Wrist lock the World!

Wim's teachings are priceless. I saw him rolling with my own eyes vs another solid black belt and applying all those techniques. My jaw dropped in awe. This is excellent stuff which I'd recommend any time, any gym, to anyone - whether you are a beginner or a confirmed black belt.

The Upside Down: Inverted Attacks by Jon Blank
Great instructional in my view to complement everybody’s game; the level of details provided facilitate the visualization when drilling, nice piece of work from Jon Thor; I am hitting some of this moves already , if I get into posish, even with higher belts , they work well; the most relevant aspect for me is to be able to see the instructor applying the technique in tournament, hitting every move as explained in the video.. Great work!
