Pin Escapes & Turtle Escapes: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
I reluctantly bought this due to me wanting to work on something more flashy and offensive, but I'm so happy I did, and went through all of it. You learn escapes, but it also has so much about offense. Start with this one! You won't regret it.

Useful, missing an important piece
Master The Move: The Shoulder Crunch Series by John Danaher
I find Danaher's method of instruction perfectly suited for how I learn - off the mat and by myself. He explains and repeats so many times that when I do hit the mat I feel like I've already hit the move and can remember nearly all of it. This was the case with this video series as well, and shoulder crunch and pinch headlock especially became a part of my game inmmediately. As a smaller, older grappler with short legs I've never bothered submitting off my back, preferring instead to sweep and submit from top. The pinch headlock armbars gave me a submission I can hit from bottom. I think what this series is really missing though is a section on grip fighting sequences. It's all well and good to show the arm drag, double tricep grip, two on one, etc. to get to the pullback to get the opponents' hands to the mat, but how do you get there against a knowledgeable, resisting opponent? Danaher should have devoted a half hour or an hour to misdirection, fakes, etc. to build up a repertoire of 2, 3 and 4 move grip fighting sequences in order to establish those vital grips.
good work
