The Building Blocks of Bottom Half Guard by James Finizio
Half had been my go-to position for over ten years and still there are details in this that are new and exciting. Additionally, the whole thing is presented in a way that it should be easily accessible to a new grappler. This whole thing is incredible

I had high hopes but...
Exploring The Empty Half Guard by Daniel Paul Pollaccia
I really wanted to like this video, but I just couldn’t get there. Almost the entire instructional is focused on one side, the left side, which for most people is the weaker side unless you are left handed or more advanced. Seeing it from both perspectives would have made a big difference in understanding and usability. The position itself also didn’t feel very practical to me. I was expecting to see more setups or entries from different positions, but it stayed pretty limited throughout. Because of that, I just don’t see many situations where I would actually be able to use this effectively while rolling. Overall, I had high hopes, but it just didn’t translate well into something I can use.
Game changer for my stand up
Foot Sweep the World by Dainis Nguyen-Huu
Just wanted to drop a quick review of Dainis’s “Foot Sweep the World”... honestly, it’s 🔥 I’m only a white belt with about a year of training and foot sweeps always felt super confusing to me. This is the first time something actually made my brain click. he breaks everything down in a really simple, easy-to-follow way without overcomplicating it. Definitely a 5-star tutorial

The Science of Guard Passing
The Science of Guard Passing by Lucas Lepri
Thank you! Im a brown belt in judo but a white belt in bjj. I also have experience in wrestling. I'm horrible on the ground. This tutorial has helped me out soooo much. After just watching the first chapter of the tutorial I was able to pass the guard of purple and blue belts on the second day of trying it out. On the first day there was some small details I was missing like the elbow placement and hip placement. But on the second day I was able to adjust.

Foot Sweep Flo by Justin Flores

Turtle Guard Revisited
The Turtle Guard Revisited by Eduardo Telles
Great! I’m looking for energy conservation while producing opportunities for submissions or reduction in my opponents control. Turtle guard, as a transitory factor while effectively framing allows flow control; I’m moving to half, deep half, dog fight, Mr.Schrembri, k-guard, etc…etc… Ideally, I’m grabbing a leg, then leg pummeling to get to the back. Make the path to the back awkward, then your opponents defenses are slowed.
Nice

Iron Pillow Defense: Detailed, Practical, and Built for Longevity
Fundamental Movement Series: Iron Pillow System by John Frankl
I train under one of Professor Frankl's black belts here in South Korea. The iron pillow has been one of my go-to defenses since my first couple months of training, and this instructional gives an excellent overview of how, when, and why to use it, as well as where to go from there. Very detailed and engaging content, some of it is reviewed and updated in his newer release on tripod passing. Particularly good for those of us who are older or not particularly athletic.
