Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Roy Harris Rapid Skill Development
Rapid Skill Development by Roy Harris
Disclaimer: I have been a student of Roy Harris since 1993 and am proud to have earned a black belt in BJJ under him. Roy Harris is one of the best instructors (of not just BJJ but any of the many skills that he possesses) out there. He is a student of the game and has learned and studied and devoted much thought to the workings behind the system. Additionally he is a patient, thorough, and kind instructor. Now living in another state I don’t get to drink from the fountain as often as I would like. To make up the gap I absorb his videos. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that he created a new video on Rapid Skill Development and I anxiously purchased it at my first opportunity! I have now completed my first viewing of it and wanted to offer a review for anyone considering purchasing the video. If you are looking for a video with dozens of flashy techniques to impress your friends, you may be disappointed in this video. This video is not about techniques but is an opportunity to look behind the curtain and see how to train to improve your skills. Roy does teach some techniques in the video, but they are presented as a vehicle to teach the methods behind learning BJJ rather than a primer on how to do a technique. With this video a student either a beginner, intermediate, or advanced can incorporate a “road map” to excellence in BJJ, whether you are training at a Harris Affiliate or any other school. The methods taught in the video are transferrable. I feel very fortunate to have started my BJJ journey under the watchful eye of Roy Harris in a dance studio in Pacific Beach. And I now count myself as fortunate to have purchased this video and completed my first of many viewings of this video (as it will take many viewings to truly absorb the material) to improve my own BJJ game as well as the deeper understanding that I will now be able to pass on to my students.
Must have for folding pass lovers!
Be a Hammer Smash The Knees: Folding Pass by Thomas Rozdzynski
T. R. has a very systematic approach when to use which kind of folding pass entry and positional transition to complete the pass although he is mainly focusing on getting to side control from the rear side. The main focus in terms of passing pisition is either getting to some kind of headquaters position aka hammer posiition or starting against some firm of half guard. His explanations are very clear. Highly recommend!

Rapid Skill Development by Roy Harris
Roy Harris delivers a fantastic instructional highlighting an effective method to get better at BJJ. Rather than show a ton of techniques Prof.Harris provides a structure to work from in order to get better, while showing techniques as examples. Hes also one of the only instructors I know that highlights the bit before the escape, defensive positioning, which has been effective for me already. This instructional is well worth getting.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Changed My Top Game
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Mounted Pin Attacks - The 4x4 Mount System by John Danaher
For a while in regards to sport BJJ (no strikes), I have always favored side mount over traditional mount for the amount of stability it offered. However, John changed my mind with this video. I have immediately implemented this and have seen results just on control alone (never mind the 4x4 dilemma it offers). Crucifix (or stepping over the head) from side control offers a similar dilemma but not as impactful. You can really fatigue and slow down the game of your opponent which makes the subs much easier to come by as opposed to forcing it and fatiguing yourself in the process. He gave examples of Gordan and Roger, but Rickson and Mica Galvaeo have also shown what a good top game looks like (there're many others as well I am just naming a few). Great instructional

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:No. 1 Croatian Judoka Satoshi Ishii
New Wave Judo by Satoshi Ishii
Finally! Ive been waiting so long for an instructional on no-gi Judo and then it comes from my country man Satoshi Ishii no less is a dream come true in every way. Needless to say I picked it up without thinking and was not dissapointed. The techniques demonstrated are easy to grasp and train but hard to master. However it provides a perfect starting point to implement Judo in MMA and no-gi grappling and in a concise manner. As someone who knows basic wrestling and decent BJJ this will compliment my grappling significantly.
