Heredia is great. He excels at showing the old school details - many small mechanical tweaks that make a difference and how to distribute your weight for each technique. If you want to learn to do more with less this is a great place to start. Excellent for the older grappler.

There are a lot of videos demonstrating how to make Judo throws work from an underhook. They are great and necessary. But there aren't many that show you how to do Judo from an overhook. This video fills that void. The presentation is great - short and to the point. Afterwards you will feel free to attack from under or overhooks, which is a pretty good feeling.

Home Run Derby: Baseball Chokes From Everywhere by Magid Hage
This is a great instructional for the baseball bat choke, from both top and bottom. Good detail on grips, mechanics, and movement. Hage also hits the choke from some very unorthodox positions, which he covers in detail. Absolutely worth the money. I do think that there is much more to cover on this choke, enough for a second volume, and I think Hage is the man to make it. Could cover, for example, baseball bat chokes using the lapel, as well as some of the variations that Miko Hytonen goes over when your opponent passes to the "wrong" side. I'd recommend calling this volume Major League: Advanced Baseball Bat Choke Techniques and Details. Anyway, I digress; great work Professor Hage.

Roger covers those fines details that matter in this half guard instructional. The sound could be a bit better quality and could be filmed a little bit closer and shown from other angles but Roger does a great job on explaining each position and this instructional has helped improve my half guard game.

Burton is the real deal, I've had the pleasure of attending many seminars and meeting many top notch instructors over my 40+ year martial arts journey and I can say that Burton Richardson is one of the most down to earth, no fluff, , top notch, as real as they get instructors available. These videos are great, and would be a plus for anyone looking for real, pressure tested strategies for dealing with edged weapons in a self defense situation. Highly recommended.

The Half Guard Anthology by Lachlan Giles
Almost more of an open guard strategy than what people would think of as half guard. Took my guard game from subpar to one of the best in the gym. I particularly liked the shin to shin entries and options. The breadth of content including narrated rolls shows that Lachlan truly loves to teach and has a wealth of knowledge. The price point versus value is better than all of the other 30ish instructionals I’ve purchased, since most are either very pricey or skimpy on the content. Again, everyone should buy this - thank you Lachlan Giles for leveling up my game.

I learned a lot from this instructional. I finally was able to tap a few blue belts (I’m a white) and I caught a black belt who escaped the choke. Everyone at my gym is looking out for it and defending against it now, but it gave me well needed confidence and people hesitate to pass my trash guard. Not only for beginners and I’ll use this forever.

First of all let me tell you that this is a lot of info . There are a total of 47 HOURS of info separated between leg locks , back attacks, Kimura , Arm bar, triangles and front headlocks from the best teacher / philosopher . I don’t think that you even have to master this info to up your game exponentially obviously drilling the techniques is essential . The method of teaching starts from pondering a subject theoretically then practically with more and more detail and practical solutions. Althow expensive this is an encyclopaedia of information in you pocket.
