New Wave Jiu Jitsu: A New Philosophy Of Positional Escapes by John Danaher
This was my first Danaher instructional and it immediately changed the way I thought about the sport. Not only did I start to see things more systematically, I started altering myself to go from the traditional defense -> guard & instead defense -> offense. It made me an immediate threat in the gym...and an ankle hunter.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Very useful
Make Z Guard Great Again by Craig Jones
Lots of great info -- both broad concepts and specific details. Was able to incorporate a lot into my game pretty quickly. I wish there was a little more about how to move from Z guard into other guards, but happy with the instructional overall.

No Gi Takedowns Made Easy by Rick Hawn
Techniques are easily spelled out, with the key factors clearly emphasized. On my first class after viewing this instructional, I was able to successfully complete throws against opponents of various backgrounds that I previously had difficulty with. Quality of the production was alright, nothing to really write home about, but as an overview of simple no-gi standup options, it’s solid.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Tom deblass intermediate leg locks
Blue Print to Beginner: Intermediate Leglocks by Tom DeBlass
Tom deblass intermediate leg locks is a no bs instructional. He is way too humble. This is fundamentals practiced at excellence. There is no such thing as basic just mastery of fundamentals. After a short introduction ( if you already don't know who Tom is) he starts preaching golden nugget after golden nugget. Thank you for this quality instruction Tom and BJJ Fanatics and I would recommend this instructional to anyone who really wants to learn

Very technically thought out on how to finish the choke and to even use as a sweeping/passing system.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Simple, Brutal and Realistic
Knife Defense For The Street by Burton Richardson
The realistic approach taken in this video series relative to the brutal nature of a short bladed weapon is something I've seen elsewhere: medieval European fighting treatises. You see, for example, the same two-handed control strategies on the attacking arm that prevent a reciprocal action and hand-offs. If you see the same or similar techniques once used in a world in which the King of France had to ban pointed knives at dinner parties due to the ****** and mayhem, you're looking at a course that's on the right track. Even in BJJ instruction where self-defense remains the primary focus--for example, those schools that trace their lineage back to Helio Gracie--dealing with weapons of any kind receives only minimal treatment. Knife defenses are few and trained in a highly unrealistic manner. This work is a major step in addressing this deficiency.

Best modern straight ankle/achilles lock instructional available
Death From Below by Mikey Musumeci
Cutting edge instructional from one of the best in the business. You only need to look at Mikey’s record to know that he practices what he preaches. It’s nice to see a world class practitioner that actually uses the straight achilles lock at a high level against the best in the world - whereas most people seem to be hung up on the heel hook. This is an absolute game changer and for me, I’ve now a tarted using the butterfly ashi instead of the standard single leg x configuration. As others have mentioned, Mikey’s presentational style continues to improve so it’s a great watch all round. This makes a great companion piece to Dean Lister’s work.
Great instructional
Championship Catch Wrestling: The Head and Arm Ride by Josh Barnett
I love the head and arm position because I find myself there all the time. Once you get used to controlling your opponent and preventing the back take, there are a lot of options. Josh is a great instructor and really expanded my horizons with different finishes and details to maintain control. I definitely recommend checking it out.
