Great for guard maneuvers
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: Closed Guard - Building a Complete Closed Guard System by John Danaher
Very thorough explanations by John Danaher. The segments are helpful for drilling and building towards the closed guard system. Most techniques are practical, some seem beyond my flexibility but he does a good job of mentioning modifications for different body types. I'm glad that I bought this video first because it is very often that I get caught in bottom guard. The side scissor is also practical in gi as well. The sleeve grip makes it much stronger to get outside the elbow and begin to take the back. I've bought two others since getting this one: butterfly guard and lapel chokes (by different instructors). I'm probably going next towards leg lock systems and defenses since I'm approaching blue belt and I don't want to have growing pains when leg locks are on the table.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Not afraid from the standing position anymore!
Feet To Floor: Volume 1 Fundamental Standing Skills by John Danaher
I started in a small dojo, with little room to practice take downs. We did not practice a lot. This instructional is fantastic. It starts with concept about gripping, off balancing. Then John Danaher shows mainly two easy takedowns, very accessible, and their variations. The part on self defense is very interesting too.

Open Guard: BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster by John Danaher
I discovered the Go Further Faster series as a blue belt, it would have been great to have them at the very beginning. John Danaher's approach is very pedagogical, he explains the reason techniques works and goes into a lot of details. The main advantage is the selection of the moves: John Danahers shows with techniques to focus on first.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Really make escaping the side control more available
Connected Reaction Second Guard (Defense and Escape from Side control) by Paul Schreiner
Escaping the sidecontrol is one of the hardest subjects to get done. Especially when your opponent forces the pin over all other techniques. The idea of the second guard in terms of bringing your legs into play in union with your whole body and pin your opponent from side control bottom is actually bringing a whole new toolkit into the game for me. It is still quite hard to escape the late stages of side control but nevertheless a way easier. Everyone should have the second guard game in their arsenal!!

Standing2Ground: Upper Body Takedowns by John Danaher
Perfect complement to Professor Danaher's first Ageless Jiu Jitsu Series. The Older/Less Athletic section alone is worth the price! I purchased several clinch/upper body wrestling instructional to try to weave something together. As an Athlete of Aging practicing Jiu Jitsu this takedown instruction and the Ageless series is a Godsend! Tension between my Professors has been high because they interpreted my inability to do athletic takedowns as "not listening" versus 56 year old knees. The curriculum should be required for all coaches and instructors! The fact is... trade offs between techniques to master and time of the learning curve need to be made when you have less time on the planet!

Next Level Lasso Guard by Jonnatas Gracie
Although Jonnatas is speaking Portuguese throughout, the English subtitles are very clear and match his movements very well. The instructional moves at a steady pace and keeps you engaged so don't worry about the language. Jonnatas shows some cool sweeping systems, attacks when the opponent is on the knees/standing, combines lasso with de la riva, single leg x, etc. Also shows many armlock, omoplata and triangle set ups.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:I'm a 54 year old
High Percentage Gi Passes by Gordon Ryan
I'm a 54 year old male black belt and to be honest it's hard dealing with the young 20 year olds due to their explosive speed and training stamina. I've bought several of John Danaher's training packages over the years which has change how I now train. These are excellent and this new package is just as good its excellent for the older grappler and well worth the money . If your older and struggle with younger athletes get this and change up your game, you won't regret it.

Game changing level of detail. When you've trained for a while, it's the small details that make the difference.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:An offbeat essential
The Turtle Guard Revisited by Eduardo Telles
I'd been eyeing this instructional for a while, and I'm very glad I finally purchased it. There are three main unique qualities I've found here 1) The instructional contains a good number of innovative moves that can be used in the turtle or turtle/adjacent situations, rather than only one move with dozens of minute variations 2) Eduardo's weight and bearing are so unique and seeing him execute these moves reinforces exactly how the body mechanics work - his efficiency is unparalleled 3) The video is just the beginning of a new attitude towards using defensive postures to attack. I'm already coming up with combinations and alternatives based on the foundation set here

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Concepts and Applications
New Wave Jiu Jitsu: No Gi Guard Passing by John Danaher
Extremely helpful instruction. It provides a lot of great details for no-gi guard passing that are relevant and applicable. Prof. Danaher breakdowns each of the movements clearly and provides the “Why” allowing to better understand the rationale and logic. The material is well organized and sequence, having a good progression as you move from one video to the next. Excellent !
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Backtakes and Submussions get done!
Back Takes For Everyone By Gabriel Arges
Professor Gabriel Arges created an excellent content of taking the back and submitting during transition. First you will get turtle breakdowns and submissions out of turtle top and breakdown. The details of controlling the hip and pushing the ellbow while pulling the hip towards you made the turtle bresk down work for me at all. Then you get back takes and submussions out of guard passing. The third part is about back takes and submissions from different guards. He puts a lot of effort to point out how to set up the techniques to stay safe and avoiding to offer your limbs for counter attacks. Clear. Calm. Precise. Highly recommend!
