The Darce Killer by Malachy Friedman
Nice system to counter the darce.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Excellent systematic breakdown of a killer submission
The Z-Lock Complete Breakdown by Junny Ocasio
This instructional shows how the Z-lock isn't simply a one-off move but a positional sub-system that can compliment anyone's leg lock game. I appreciate the emphasis on key details of the entries, suggestions for other submissions that build off the Z position, as well as clear instructions on how to handle common counters. I train in a gym full of killers whose skills far outstrip my own, but with Junny's help, I'm regularly catching higher belts with the Z'.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:grinning::+1:Feet To Floor Volume 3
Feet To Floor: Volume 3 by John Danaher
Well first off, I have the BJJ lifetime discount card, so I don't need the 20%. Also, I buy almost all the videos, especially being home bound, and I don't like them all. I'm sure some top judo players may pick at some elements of F2F but after watching and drill the whole series, "Meat and Potatoes" for takedowns, especially for non experts. Some seem to complain about Danaher's "longwinded" approach, but that's the strength for me. The initial watching of the series, give all the practical theory, then drill with confidences and you're off to the races.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Fundamentals on Darce Chokes
Finding The Darce Choke Everywhere by Joel Bouhey
Though not an encyclopedia, he covers the fundamentals of Darce Cokes well. I esp. like the one he uses for side control and Americana escapes. It helps improve my defensive and escape skills a lot.

Side Control Dominance by Andre Galvao
I've only made it through 2 of the DVDs so far. However, what I have learnt in respect of fundamentals for my side control has been noticeable when I'm rolling. I find it is very easy to digest the way the concepts are taught and built upon as you learn new techniques. Highly recommended.

Advanced Guard Systems by Neil Melanson
Neil always has a new approach to BJJ and this video is no exception. Great techniques and the K guard is something special which is very relevant to both sport, MMA and self defence. It has really improved my game.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Great review of Guillotine set-ups
Guillotine Traps by Firas Zahabi
It doesn't cover guillotines like an encyclopedia. But, it gives good amount as a fundamental background. Even more helpful is how he sets them up. For every submission, you need a set-up and Firas does that very well.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Full of detail

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:mirroring principle & finishing mechanics
Mirroring Principle: End Game Finishers by Wim Deputter
for those who know Wim's work it is amazing to see how playing the basic defensive structures - babybridge & inside shoulder escape/hawking - carry over to finishing mechanics and timing by applying the mirroring principle in an offensive setting. i especially like the setup and refined details for the reverse back triangle.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:call_me_hand::skin-tone-2:such smooth armbars from everywhere
Fundamental Armbar Mechanics by Karel "Silver Fox" Pravec
Karel's material with Firas was fantastic, and this series goes even deeper. I'm especially a fan of the armpit grip and how he lands it so smoothly from a variety of positions. For context I also went through the 11h Danaher Armbar series (Enter the System) and some Dave Camarillo material, and this is *still* complementary. There are levels to mastery. Hope I'll get a chance to visit his gym someday, cheers from Japan!

Half Domination by Tom DeBlass
A highly recommended instructional. Tom DeBlass is a brilliant teacher explains each concept clearly and simply. I remember Tom saying that he is a firm believer in mastering the fundamentals (I think it was in a BJJ Fanatics podcast) and I feel this is the best instructional on the half guard.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Clear and efficient
Closed Guard Arsenal: Sweeps & Back Takes by Giancarlo Bodoni
Very clear and efficient quickly, I am a purple belt and I can adjust a lot of those details of the closed guard in other guard also. Those basics are fundamentals for improving your game.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Escaping side control and north-south – concepts and a range of solid techniques
Side Control Escapes: Basics To Advanced Concepts by Andre Galvao
Objective Andre states that this instructional has been developed to teach: “defensive strategies from the side control position so that you can develop a better understanding of fundamental jiu jitsu.” Content Volume 1 (1 hour 40 minutes long) covers: what your opponent will want to do when they are in side control top to effectively maintain control, with Andre highlighting better practice from the top position; the framing system (forearm and shin); recovering the guard using the framing system; a basic guard recovery from side control when the opponent defeats your frames, obtains a cross face position and you are unable to use your arm frames and instead your recovery is made using your legs; a recovery from a cross face position primarily using your arm frame; a recovery from cross face using a underhook to their back; and again from cross face, an underhook escape in combination with a low single leg to reverse the position. Volume 2 (1 hour 5 minutes long) covers: an escape from cross face using an underhook to enter a darce choke from the bottom side control position and multiple escapes from the Kesa Gatame position with options leading to submissions e.g. an armbar or omaplata. Volume 3 (1 hour 12 minutes long) covers: three escapes from Kesa Gatame where the opponent has applied a headlock; an escape leading to a back attack when the opponent has both of his arms on the far side of your body; and five escapes from reverse side control. Volume 4 (1 hour 33 minutes long) covers: five escapes from north-south often leading to a submission and a very useful section (28 minutes long) about surviving side control bottom. In the surviving bottom section Andre states that it is going to be hard to escape and he provides advice on what you need to do e.g. aim to build frames, move and recover the guard; noting that it may not be possible to recover the guard immediately so there is a need to be patient and conserve energy; often your opponent will make space when they are transitioning or moving to a submission; how to protect your body on the bottom; how to move to create space; etc. Definitely a useful section for anybody that spends time on the bottom in side control. Andre is an excellent and confident instructor. As with his other instructionals that I have purchased he speaks clearly, is engaging and knowledgeable. His style is to teach holistically, in that he does not just teach the technique, but rather he teaches the strategy, the details of the technique, the likely responses from the opponent and your suggested responses. In many of the techniques he teaches a follow-up offensive technique. As you would expect techniques are demonstrated at a slow pace and then finally, he demonstrates the technique at speed. In my opinion Andre effectively coaches you through the subject matter adding tips as he goes. Sound and picture quality are good, however there are a couple of occasions where the focus is not sharp. The angles of the technique displayed are appropriate. The total length of the instructional is 5 hours and 30 minutes long. There are other instructionals that teach more techniques to escape from side control, but this instructional teaches much more than the techniques. It is long, but I found that Andre can keep you engaged. If you need to improve your ability to escape side control, then I believe that this instructional will certainly help. This recommendation applies to both Gi and No-Gi players.

Basics To Advanced: The Half Butterfly Guard by Aaron Benzrihem
I watched this and 3 days later went to open mat and worked only this. After my 3rd roll I was hitting this once or twice a roll. While it isn't perfect yet, Aaron provides drills that I have been practicing. If you play half guard, this is a must...and if you are an ultra heavy and compete, this is a must.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Kimura Excellence
Kimura: Enter The System by John Danaher
Coach Danaher does an excellent job of breaking down the Kimura and how to use it in a myriad of situations. Also included are tips which woulkd be hard to get anywhere else than from Coach Danaher himself. Highly recommended to take your Kimura game to the next level.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Very useful system
The Shoulder Pin Guard System by Neil Melanson
Neil has a great method of teaching. He explains each technique in great detail and he is very funny while doing it. This system is great for old broken down people like me who may have bad hips, knees or groins. Neil has a unique style of guard game influenced by catch wrestling. I highly recommend this.

Unlocking The Secrets Of The Mount Position by Pedro Sauer
This one and the other instructional video he made really are full of gold. The way he explains everything and keeps your attention just makes it so easy to understand. Everything from the frog feet to the way you move your hips, when and why you do each and every move, and detail. I have been training a long time and the smallest details make such a big difference and they are just pouring out of Pedro Sauer in this series. I sure hope you will have him make more of these for us. Thank you!!

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:Concise and easy to apply. Worth the $$$$
Understanding Collar Chokes by Travis Stevens
Travis Stevens is great at teaching. This instructional prepares the viewer on the basics of the most seen chokes in the Gi (sliding collar and Ezekiel) and how to choke an opponent that goes into turtle position. It is concise and to the point. I wish there was a bit more on the Ezekiel choke since I am having the most difficulty in that choke. However, it is great value instructional!
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Amazing material from a great teacher!
Fundamentals of Side Control Escapes by Pedro Sauer
Professor Sauer breaks down and demos a crazy number of options from bottom side control in this series. I personally was amazed both by the new details I picked up on some of my favorite techniques as well as the plethora of escapes and reversals that are entirely new to me. I highly recommend it for any belt level?

Fundamentals of Side Control Escapes by Pedro Sauer
Pedro has more understanding of leverage and simplicity than anyone I've come across. A lot of it is shared in this video series. These concepts and techniques made me comfortable against some of the toughest training partners and I think everyone should become familiar with this content.

Fundamentals of Side Control Escapes by Pedro Sauer
Everything Master Pedro teaches is gold. The depth of understanding and details is truly impressive and he breaks down all of the movement in a way that has made me think “why didn’t I know or ever see that before” multiple times throughout his instructions. There are quite a few details and techniques I have never seen, and I have been training for over 25 years. Huge thank to Master Pedro for sharing so much knowledge. It is easy to see why he is so highly regarded around the world. I DEFINITELY recommend getting his instructional videos. Wow. I hope you will have him make more of these.
