Very good
Foot Sweep Flo by Justin Flores
I always wanted to put foot sweeps in my game. This is one of the best instructionals for foot sweeps. They are still just so hard to hit!
This Fast Track series is amazing!
Fast Track BJJ: Jiu Jitsu For Old Guys - Submission Escapes by Bernardo Faria
This Fast Track series is amazing! What I love most is that the information is digestible in a short amount of time without ever feeling rushed. It gets straight to the point, shows the techniques clearly, and gives you something you can immediately go back to and drill without spending hours watching videos. This series covers just about every escape you could need. Of course, it’s up to you to go back, study the material, and put in the work but that process is so much easier when the videos are concise and focused. I absolutely love this series and highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their Jiu-Jitsu. I’m already looking forward to more Fast Track videos in the future!
An Original Use for Meditation
Meditation for Grapplers by Michael Heinz
Meditation is a tool that was traditionally used by a non-violent religion (Buddhism). In an ironic twist of fate, it also came to be associated with the mythical ethos of ninja monks and samurai Zen masters. My previous understanding of meditation's link to martial arts came from a book called, "When Buddhists Attack", by Jeffrey K. Mann. The core idea in this book is that rigorous meditation trains the mind to be fluid, present, and free of the reactive fear/anger that clouds judgment in combat. It enhances concentration and awareness, emotional regulation, reduces hesitation that comes from fear, and shifts us from trying to "win" to simply being fully present in the exchange. Michael Heinz presents a similar idea in this video instructional, most notably in volume 2. However, he took an unexpected turn in his lesson, which was very different from what I knew beforehand. Heinz breaks down several positions in BJJ, strips them of all unnecessary complexity, and shows a very simple and basic game between two people in each position. And these are very, very ridiculously simple concepts. He then goes on to show how being fully present helps us keep our mind focused on these basic struggles, so we aren't tempted to get lost in the endless maze of complexity and millions of variations. The best Jiu Jitsu is simple Jiu Jitsu. And meditation keeps us focused on the most essential and simplest Jiu Jitsu. That is the primary lesson I learned from Heinz in this instructional, and I found it to be an original idea that I have not seen before.

Self Defence Skills
CSW Combatives Self defense by Erik Paulson
Great to see an exploration of Erik's wider knowledge into the arts that can be used for street defence, including defence from knife and weapon attacks. The strikes and grips he uses to block, parry, lock and control the opponent, along with the techniques that turn the attack back against the aggressor, make this tutorial series a well-worth purchase. As always, Erik's instruction doesn't skimp on technique - there's plenty here to get stuck into.

One of the best half guard players ever
High Precision Half Guard Vol. 2 by Jake Mackenzie
Jake has been one of the best half guard players in the game for many years. He hits these exact techniques in competition, and he has them down to a science. His explanations are easy to follow and apply on the mat. This one is titled Volume 2, but it does start off with some very basic half guard positioning and concepts. I'd almost recommend starting with this one versus his other half guard video due to that reason. The other one has a big focus on deep half and then reverse half. This one is more about underhook attacks and knee twist positioning.
Easy concepts and application
The Buchecha Takedown System In The Gi by Marcus "Buchecha" Almeida
Buchecha breaks down his stand-up game in a very easy to understand manner. The techniques are easy to study and apply on the mat. This video would benefit beginners and advanced players. Highly recommend!
Brings it all together
Half Butterfly: Victory Blueprint by Adam Wardzinski
Adam brings it all together in this video with the main concept being the hook sweep. He also incorporates the John Wayne and other sweep options. He shows defenses and counters to the majority of common passes from this position. I attended a seminar a few months back where he showed this exact system, so this is great to have it in my library now for reference.

awesome material
BJJ for Self Defense Part 2
Practical Jiu Jitsu 2: Using The Legs To Defend Strangle and Knock Teeth Out by Michael Heinz
I've already own the first part of the series, and my review of part two is the same. Most BJJ techniques only work in sport. And that's fine if you only want to play sports. But the SBG curriculum demands that the fundamentals work in both sport and non-sport, and both gi and no-gi. This demand inherently simplifies the art, makes it more effective in a broader range of scenarios, and makes it easier to learn. In other words, the SBG curriculum that is presented here is one of the most broadly applicable, universal, and robust sets of techniques and concepts that you can possibly find. I feel that other sports oriented schools are overly complex and their teachings will break down during the pressures of a real world fight. This is an excellent course.

J-Flo is a fantastic teacher, and he focuses on 3 throws, but goes really in dept. Although the audio isn't very good for the first section.
